very nice... I like that a lot more than the vertical style. thanks for doing this!

What XML is that? I'd like to play with the text size (want to make the in focus word larger) and location on the screen (want to move it down a bit)

Well, I haven't uploaded it yet but when I do, you'll want to play around with the "Includes_Home_4.xml" file. Be aware though that if you move the menu down it will interfere with the Home Statistics option if you use that. If not, then no big deal.

Thanks so much Amra (and hitcher) for this awesome package , i have a plasma screen but am actually using this mod now due to all the mods it comes with , just had to change the resolution to 1920x1080 and truly loving this .

Cheers and i hope you remain motivated in this project

edit :

also awesome looking preview of new home style Smile , for now i'm using stencil and home 1 as i love it .

You're welcome & thanks for the kind words. I use this on my own HTPC so I hope to continue updating it as necessary.

I personally use the Green Mosaic theme for myself and then four of the other themes for each member of my family's profiles. That way I can tell at a glance which family member is logged in.

The 2 new home styles really look nice & I'm having a tough time deciding which one to use but I do tend to favor the new vertical one (home3) and will probably stick with that once I add some submenus, working on that today. Big Grin

Thanks for you work!

I have a lot of nice fanart for my music collection, which can be quite difficult to really enjoy because it is very muted/faded. Can someone give me a clue where and what to alter to make the fanart less muted?

Not sure if it's still the same, but I had that problem awhile back also and adjusted the transparency of "Alaska/media/Backdrops/filter.png" using Gimp...

What joe said would probably work but usually you can just edit the "BackgroundColor" number in the xml file for the theme you are using. There are 10 xml files located in the "skin.big.alaska\colors" folder that control all the colors for each theme.

If you are just using the standard (white) theme then edit the defaults.xml file and change the first two digits of the BackgroundColor number to control the transparency level.

for instance, try changing (in defaults.xml):
Code:
<color name="BackgroundColor">ccffffff</color>
to
Code:
<color name="BackgroundColor">86ffffff</color>
For more info on editing the color themes, see This Thread.

heya today i noticed a "issue" when i added another serie (waiting on my nas so just doing temporary library to test)

it happens in most views that have the poster , it shows the poster with some transparent borders and on the top left it has some weird transparency triangle sort of thing .

like this :

http://img180.imageshack.us/f/randomissuer.png/

tried disabling clear cases , dvd cases , clear art video and had no luck , hopefully you can tell me what is this and how to fix it , thanks Smile , the top left thingie isn't actually a solid color as you can still see the poster , but yeah .

thanks in advance

Are you talking about the area I've indicated in the screenshot below? If so, then that is by design on various views in order to give the illusion of a reflection on the poster. It's something Hitcher had in the Original Alaska & I've never changed it. Sorry, but there is no option to disable it.
