Crystal HD - audio starts, but video says on the menu - adamfenn28 - 2010-04-02 I am running r28256 on an AppleTV, with Crystal HD driver r26, and was running something a couple weeks older until today with the same issue. I have the Crystal HD card selected in my system - video - playback - render method, but 1080p content doesn't play correctly. It fires up the audio, but the video never starts. It just stays on the menu screens. When I look through the logs, the Crystal HD appears to be working properly: 17:30:03 T:50595328 M: 13717504 INFO: Trying Broadcom Crystal HD Decoder... 17:30:03 T:50595328 M: 13574144 DEBUG: CrystalHD: codec opened 17:30:03 T:50595328 M: 13574144 INFO: DVDVideoCodecCrystalHD: Opened Broadcom Crystal HD Codec 17:30:03 T:52099072 M: 12886016 DEBUG: CrystalHD: Input Thread Started... 17:30:03 T:51647488 M: 12886016 DEBUG: CrystalHD: Output Thread Started... When I select another render method, it plays the video too, but it's very choppy. Any idea why I'm getting no video? Thanks! Adam - interceptor121 - 2010-04-02 Mediainfo of the file and xbmc logs would help for a start - Doood - 2010-04-02 It sound like you are playing a VC-1 encoded file which is not supported yet. But we'll know for sure as soon as you post more info. :-) - interceptor121 - 2010-04-02 Doood Wrote:It sound like you are playing a VC-1 encoded file which is not supported yet. It seems there's mixed results on if VC1 is supported or not. Is VC1 the issue? interceptor121 Wrote:VC1 is fully supported by XBMC - davilla - 2010-04-03 adamfenn28 Wrote:You're right. Here's the log - adamfenn28 - 2010-04-03 xbmc.log - http://pastebin.com/kswgE6Lz I'l include the mediainfo as soon as I get it. moving big files around takes a little time. the mediainfo - adamfenn28 - 2010-04-03 General Complete name : /Users/adamfenn28/sherlock.holmes.1080p.vc1.5.1.wmv Format : Windows Media File size : 9.65 GiB Duration : 2h 8mn Overall bit rate mode : Variable Overall bit rate : 10.8 Mbps Maximum Overall bit rate : 18.8 Mbps Encoded date : UTC 2010-03-15 10:46:13.209 Video ID : 2 Format : VC-1 Format profile : AP@L3 Codec ID : WVC1 Codec ID/Hint : Microsoft Description of the codec : VC-1 - VC-1 Advanced Profile Duration : 2h 8mn Bit rate mode : Variable Bit rate : 9 930 Kbps Width : 1 920 pixels Height : 1 080 pixels Display aspect ratio : 16:9 Frame rate : 23.976 fps Resolution : 8 bits Colorimetry : 4:2:0 Scan type : Progressive Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.200 Stream size : 8.90 GiB (92%) Language : English (US) Audio ID : 1 Format : WMA Format profile : Pro Codec ID : 162 Codec ID/Info : Windows Media Audio Description of the codec : Windows Media Audio 10 Professional - 768 kbps, 48 kHz, 5.1 channel 24 bit 1-pass CBR Duration : 2h 8mn Bit rate mode : Constant Bit rate : 768 Kbps Channel(s) : 6 channels Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz Resolution : 24 bits Stream size : 705 MiB (7%) Language : English (US) - interceptor121 - 2010-04-03 According to broadcom crystal HD officially only supports WMV9 SP and MP not AP which is the file you are trying to play http://www.broadcom.com/products/Consumer-Electronics/Netbook-and-Nettop-Solutions/BCM70012 It would play SMPTE VC-1 AP at L 3 1080p/1080i, 40 Mbps but your codec is the microsoft implementation aka wmv9 - Doood - 2010-04-03 Hmmm... I haven't found a VC-1 encoded file that can play with the Broadcom yet. They all have the same described error. I know XBMC itself supports it, but the broadcom drivers weren't doing them yet. Anyone decoding VC-1 files successfully with the broadcom? - interceptor121 - 2010-04-03 Doood Wrote:Hmmm... I haven't found a VC-1 encoded file that can play with the Broadcom yet. What would you expect from microsoft? I would try to encode a main profile to see if it works but I would be looking for H264 to be safe - davilla - 2010-04-03 VC1 in a m2ts works, this is native bluray. VC1 in other containers gets messy as the correct bit-stream conversion needs to be done and this has not been addressed yet. - ewequeone - 2010-04-05 I've already posted a ticket for it here http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/8864 Obviously I've not plied davilla with enough beer and hookers yet for him to fix it! Will have to ask the bank for another loan or get a 4th mortgage on the house. Davilla likes his women cheap and his beer expensive!!! |
