It opens the shutdown menu of xbmc.

I guess it depends on the skin. Some skins don't have a shutdown menu.
Just tried it. It works with Alaska and Aeon. It doesn't work with XBMCTV.
Can you use the remote at all?

remote works except the repeat key issue, i will check which skin I have installed.

it does not pop up if you press it during playback but the menu appears when browsing xbmc interface.
