In the past couple updates the fanart version of the landscape logo view where only the logo appeared at the bottom and the fanart shows seems to have disappeared.
Now only darkview seems to exist and the option to switch is gone, was this intended?

i thinck he have separated the option in two view, to make possible to use darkview and fanartview at different level

Yea they were a few requests to have Dark view on one level and Fanart on another, only way was to separate the views

Yea had some requests for Dark view on one level and Fanart on another, only way was to separate them

Ah gotcha.
Somehow this new view got disabled on mine, was able to sort it out.

If you mean this view, it should be there, it's now called "Fanart". I don't know how it could have disabled for hikaricore but 2x check if it wasn't disabled for you...Settings->Skin->Disable Views

I just checked my setup and the "new" Fanart view was disabled for me as well. Easy enough to just un-check it though so no biggie. I'm now using it as my main Episode view!
I still haven't got the merged version working so it may be something to do with the XBMC build I'm using. What SVN version should I use and where should I get it from?

Think I have a guess why it was disabled...
SVN builds, I change builds every 2-3 days. But thats on my main PC which I use to just code. My HTPC I'm using some old build around 28202. Alot of people are writing good comments on 30704, you can download SVN builds from here

I'm downloading the Windows DX Installer for 30704, is there anything I need to do to my old version? (Such as delete it and redo everything? or can I just install it over top of my other version?)

You know they are in development. Scripts/plugins (except for Recently added, Favorites, and OSDsubs) aren't working, etc...The main functions other than that have been good for me atleast.
I forget the exact build number but I ususally delete all my XBMC folders are start fresh. You can probably just overwrite your installation if your previous build was 30000 or above..
Again SVN's aren't recommended but except for some issues have been generally solid
