I think I've narrowed it down a bit

If you start Grooveshark within the first 30 seconds after powering up XBMC - login is OK. Debug log:
http://pastebin.com/u1arisK0

If you open XBMC and wait for a few minutes doing nothing - login fails

The only things happening in the background are Weather+ trying to update forecasts and scraping for new addons.

cant log in using addon - tronics - 2011-11-15

Hi I am just now checking out this addon. It looks like it will be quite cool but I am having trouble getting it to log into my grooveshark account. using regular web browser is no problem but with same credentials in this addon I get "check username and password" message. I enabled debug but not sure if the output is in another place other than xbmc.log. Inside xbmc.log the only reference is as follows:
Code:
19:07:18 T:3016849280 M:2641502208 WARNING: GetLabel - Unknown nodetype requested 0
19:07:23 T:2760235888 M:2635202560  NOTICE: -->Python Interpreter Initialized<--
19:07:28 T:2760235888 M:2633707520 WARNING: dll_fdopen - mode 0x41 differs from fd mode 0x200c2
19:07:38 T:2760235888 M:2633240576  NOTICE: Request to Grooveshark API failed

not sure what to make of that. Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: I realized I was using a addon called Grooveshark XBMC which is different from regular Grooveshark addon. With the one labeled simply "Grooveshark" login works just fine...

GrooveShark addon is no longer working for me as well. Starting the addon in the first 30 seconds does not make a different for me, the addon keeps telling that there is no session Id and that I should try later. Xbmc.log file tells me that this is an Invalid Client.

+1 any updates as of yet
thanks kobyboy

addon keeps failing for me. wont play any streams. Sad

Working again - solver - 2011-11-18

Hey,

There's a new version on its way to the addon manager that should fix the "New session id" problem. As always, you can get the newest version from my google code page (see first post in this thread) right away.

Cheers

finally some good news! will it make it to the eden-pre repo too ?

- WalterPerth - 2011-11-19

Thanks a lot Solver, I really like this addon!

- dallasnights - 2011-11-19

can someone zip it up so I can install it on the ATV and share please

Thanks all

- macf1an - 2011-11-19

you packed the zip file incorrectly - the container folder is missing..

It seems you've fixed the "invalid client" error but this brought back the "invalid ssl protocol" after staying for awhile in XBMC.

Pls check my logs from page 62 to confirm!

Fixed

It's a bug in the ssl lib in python 2.6 - the youtube plugin has the same problem. I usually get rid of it by restarting the script but the error will eventually occur again although with warring intervals. Sorry, not much I can do

thanks for the clarification!
so are you going to push this to the eden-pre repo ?

- schumi2004 - 2011-11-25

Can't wait to have this in the pre-eden repo.

wow - coleborn - 2011-12-11

Can't believe I've only just come across this addon.

Amazing, many thanks to the developer.

Noticed there is a few questions about using this on pre-eden. I'm using pre-eden Openelec and so far seems to work perfectly.
