Nope, it's still there!

- harryzimm - 2010-07-18

Sorry i have no idea. I would start a new thread about your problem. Have you tried using a different keyboard or remote?

cheers

- Tyler Durden - 2010-07-18

No I haven't tried a different Keyboard. I am using the same one I have always used, the wireless one that came with the Revo.

Is it worth me trying to upgrade to the latest nightly build? I am currently on r31718.

If so, how is this done?

- harryzimm - 2010-07-18

you're already on the latest build. Im using the same revision along with a lot of other people and dont see this problem. Sorry i dont know what it can be, maybe a button is stuck on your keyboard?

I have just disconnected the mouse and keyboard while a film was playing and the OSD remained.

I am also experiencing the long delays when starting a film playing.

Is it possible that the install is somehow corrupt and these odd things that I am experiencing are a result of this?

Might as well give it a go. This will completely remove all xbmc stuff including skins, library etc. then reinstall xbmc

Code:
sudo apt-get remove xbmc-*

Code:
sudo rm -r ~/.xbmc

Code:
sudo apt-get clean

Code:
sudo apt-get autoclean

Code:
sudo apt-get autoremove

Code:
sudo apt-get update

Code:
sudo apt-get install xbmc

Code:
sudo apt-get install xbmc-live

Code:
sudo reboot

Worth a shot i suppose

Thank you very much for all that.

Unfortunately it has made no difference, the OSD remains.

- harryzimm - 2010-07-18

Sorry i tried Smile. I still think you should try shutting it down and connecting another keyboard.

cheers

- Tyler Durden - 2010-07-18

Okay, I'll try that.

- Tyler Durden - 2010-07-18

I'm afraid that a different keyboard and mouse has not helped either.

- harryzimm - 2010-07-18

what happens when you play a movie from the local hard drive? does it still display the seeking osd?

- Tyler Durden - 2010-07-18

Yes.

Boot from a LiveCD and if the OSD still appears, then it is hardware based error. Otherwise it is a software problem.

well, time to give this a whirl ... i have read every page right from the start ...
and stuck on the first option Smile

i have the 3610
which is 64 bit capable i thought ... so the question is ...

which version do i get?
there's a bunch there and it seems there is only a 32bit version available for the Revo 3610. Is it the very first one in the list i need?
