- canadave - 2011-08-06 Hi, I'm having some trouble with this addon, which I'm trying out for the first time. Everything's set up properly in menus and such; I can go to the OSD and download subtitles no problem; but I don't see the subtitles in the movie. I saw another thread that said to try to stop and restart the movie; I did that, but still no luck. I've pastebinned the relevant part of the log: http://pastebin.com/bJPBk7nH Any ideas? - amet - 2011-08-06 canadave Wrote:Hi, on XBMC ftp is read only, you can set XBMC Subtitles to download to a folder on a local machine and it will work just fine - canadave - 2011-08-06 amet Wrote:on XBMC ftp is read only, you can set XBMC Subtitles to download to a folder on a local machine and it will work just fine Oh, thank you. So, if I've got this straight, you're saying that if I use something other than FTP (such as SMB, NFS, etc) to connect to my NAS from XBMC on my ATV2, then the subtitles would download to my ATV2 and work properly? Or are you saying that the way the subtitles addon works is that it has to download the subtitles to a folder that's not on the ATV2, regardless of the way the device connects to anything? - amet - 2011-08-06 canadave Wrote:Oh, thank you. Anything but FTP will work fine if you have setup write permissions correctly for your sources - canadave - 2011-08-06 amet Wrote:Anything but FTP will work fine if you have setup write permissions correctly for your sources Fair enough, thank you. It's too bad FTP is the fastest and most stable way for me to connect the ATV2 to my NAS I have to think about this. - onlyyou - 2011-08-06 Hi guys, great add-on, "beta series" isn't working though i have access to the sub list but can't download them (just freeze "downloading subtitle") Anyone have this issue ? - canadave - 2011-08-06 Hmmmm. OK, I'm seeing a different problem. I created a "SUBTITLES" folder on my ATV2 to download and use the subtitles locally. However, downloading the subtitles still didn't work. After "downloading" them, I went to the SUBTITLES folder, and it was still empty. I checked permissions on that folder and it was set to mobile/mobile (should be correct?) The bigger issue is, I went to the addon configuration screen itself, and changed the "Subtitle Download Folder Same As Movie" setting so that it was set to download to that SUBTITLES folder on my ATV2. I clicked "OK", then went back into the same addon configuration screen to make sure the setting had "stuck." But instead, it had reverted back to the original setting that the subtitles should download to the same folder as the movie! I'm going to try uninstalling and reinstalling the addon...is there any other ideas as to why the setting would not "stick" when I clicked OK? - canadave - 2011-08-06 Well, uninstalling and reinstalling worked. Now everything's okay with the local folder. - amet - 2011-08-06 onlyyou Wrote:Hi guys, Debug log? - onlyyou - 2011-08-07 many thanks, here it is http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1973897/Divers/xbmc.log - flaviosa - 2011-08-07 flaviosa Wrote:hi guys, anyone? - amet - 2011-08-08 flaviosa Wrote:anyone? You are running 2.5.5 version which is made for dharma on a lattest nightly build of XBMC. Any reason you are not updating to the Eden compatible version of subtitle addon? - flaviosa - 2011-08-08 I downloaded and test every single version outthere and I have the same problem. Which one is the right one? - loopez - 2011-08-09 for people who has problems with subtitles and smb: ( napistrefa ) on pre-eden builds: i used solution from http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=86435 simply mounted remote folders to local dirs - and as a workaround it is working - amet - 2011-08-09 flaviosa Wrote:I downloaded and test every single version outthere and I have the same problem. every single version there is only 2 , 2.5.5 for Dharma and 2.9.17 for Eden since you are on Eden nightly builds you need > 2.9.17 |
