He's obviously speaking about torrents...

Sorted !
Reinstall fixed the issue of not finding anything . Something went corrupt in the update to last diff .
Now the issues are 1- Manual Download processing ( without restarting CPS ) 2- running another post processing script from within CPS !

The Movie library manager isn't working for since it updated, I tried to add a directory but even the old ones are not working, it doesn't see them.

Heres the error from the log

Hi,

I've just updated to couchpotato 2.0.3 and I've just noticed the new option Utorrent in "downloaders" category. I tried to leave localhost: 8000 by default, but it does not work, couchpotato can not communicate with Utorrent and movies found by couchpotato are not downloaded by Utorrent (my watchFolder created for Utorrent remains empty). It worked well before when I ticked Blackhole option with Utorrent but I want to use the new label option from couchpotato.

Here are two lines of log:
12-18 7:00:54 p.m. ERROR [core.downloaders.utorrent] Failed to send torrent to uTorrent: HTTP Error 400: ERROR
12-18 7:00:54 p.m. INFO [ato.core.plugins.searcher] Tried to download, view none of the downloaders are enabled

I've spent the whole day trying to figure out what the correct settings are for Host and if I have to set a username and password (I guess not cause couchpotato and Utorrent are installed on the same laptop and everything is downloaded locally on it's hard disk).

Could you please tell me what are the correct settings? Thank you very much.

I'm not 100% sure if this is correct as I never used this feature and this is from googling:
The port after localhost in the host setting needs to be the port that uTorrent uses in its Preferences>Connection. If you want to keep it as 8000 in Couchpotato, just change the port to 8000 in uTorrent. In any case, make sure randomize port each start is unticked here.
You also need to go to Preferences>Advanced>Web UI and enable this and whatever username and password you select here, copy it in to Couchpotato. I'm not sure if you need to specify a download directory in these prefs.
You then need to download the Web UI: look in uTorrent forum for a download link and move it to C:\Users\(yourusername)\Appdata\Roaming\utorrent, if you use Windows. Actually, you can get uTorrent to download the web UI zip package automatically if you put http://(whateveryourIPis):(uTorrentConnectionPortAsAbove)/gui/ into your browser - leave out brackets!
Check that you have at least one provider checked in Couchpotato's Torrent provider's settings.
And uTorrent probably needs to be running for everything to work.
Take a look at: http://www.utorrent.com/help/guides/webui

EDIT: I tested this: You should let uTorrent download it automatically. Web UI v 0.386 and v 0.387 would not connect to uTorrent if I manually installed the Web UI.zip, but it worked for me if I let uTorrent install it.

RE: CouchPotato - Automatic Movie Downloader via NZB & Torrents - kokoro - 2012-12-19

Thank you very much DrStrange, it works very well now!

I've tried all of the above except the http://(whateveryourIPis):(uTorrentConnectionPortAsAbove)/gui/ thing. I've tried http://(whateveryourIPis):(uTorrentConnectionPortAsAbove)/ (without gui) before and all it displayed was: invalid request. I'm so happy you saved me hours of headache and hope I could help you in return one day Nod

Is there a how to guide in using this tool... I've attempted to use the program but I'm totally lost in how to set this up properly

I don't know if there's a guide, but I do know that "I'm totally lost" will probably not get any useful answers. What's going wrong? Are you having issues with the installation or the configuration?

After you've installed it you just go through the settings (gear icon) and set everything up. The stuff you really need: a nzb and/or torrent provider and a downloader (such as sabnzbd or transmission). I believe the other things already have default settings, so don't need to be changed necessarily (but you can tailor them to your needs later on - just make sure it's working first). After you've configured at least those things you can try and add a movie you know is available at one of your nzb or torrent providers, so you can test your set up.

My guide (see sig) will be updated to Frodo soon, this will also update the CP guide to the new version (it's already included, but for the old version of CP)
First week of the new year is my target Smile

RE: CouchPotato - Automatic Movie Downloader via NZB & Torrents - Manticore - 2012-12-22

Hi guys

I had CP,SB and SAB setup and all working perfectly on a win7 machine.
I have an unraid server setup that stores everything under a share that looks like this

Media
-------------------
I******** I **********I
Movies TV Music

The share "Media" was then mapped as the E drive
But due to constant lags in XBMC and random reboots I decided to give Ubuntu a go as half my SSD was taken up with windows after it installed

I installed CP fine and added all my details but when I get to the part "Manage" movies Im a bit stuck.

On my Win7 machine I was able to map my network drives (A,B,C,D,E etc). When I went to "Manage" movies I was able to go to Media (E) (cant remember exactly how it looked) and select it. But when I look for the network drive in Ubuntu I cant find it at all and I cant find anything to do with the drives

So...for example - When I have XBMC installed I can go to “Videos”, then “Select Source”.
It brings me up a list of ways for xbmc to communicate with my unraid tower. I use smb as I have one Ubuntu machine and one Win7.
But when Im in couch potato and I want to add my movies there is no option to add the movies via smb.
I looked through all my folders but cant find a way to select the tower. This is on the Ubuntu computer I should mention

I can see and access the network share if I click on it under "Network" or in the Ubuntu sidebar. So its picking the tower up over smb but not giving me anywhere to select the folders from it in CP

I have a win7 laptop that I use to edit files/folders so thats why I want to use smb and not NFS.

I dont have a clue about linux really so be gentle please. Hope someone can help.
Thanks

RE: CouchPotato - Automatic Movie Downloader via NZB & Torrents - XBL. - 2012-12-22

You need to mount the samba share in Ubuntu. Instead of mapping it to a drive letter, like in Windows, you mount a filesystem to a folder, e.g. /mount/unraid. After that you can access the share using CP (SB, sab, etc). None of those programs (except XBMC) mount shares themselves, they expect that mounting happens at OS level. I don't know how to do it through the GUI (might be tools available), but this is a guide to permanently mount a samba share on Ubuntu: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MountWindowsSharesPermanently. Basically it comes down to editing your /etc/fstab, which defines what filesystems are mounted.

RE: CouchPotato - Automatic Movie Downloader via NZB & Torrents - chrisuk11 - 2012-12-25

does anyone get an issue where after a few days couchpotato stops responding (unable to connect to it) so I have to keep stopping the process and then re-opening?

Also, can couchpotato be run as a service? If so, how is this done

Thanks and Merry Christmas to all
