BlueCorp: Discovery Channel would be awesome along with HBO.

I know you mentioned netflix. Is that still something your committed to? It would be awesome...

Hbo videos should work with hulu offsite search. I use it to watch bill mahers overtime videos.

I will add discovery to the list for offsite search. I am kinda bummed about the new swf verify. I don't really want to do work on something when the provider can basily flip a switch and render it useless.

I am going to a hacker con this weekend so I will probably be worthless for a next couple weeks for any plug-in updates if they break. I will have new projects to work on.

- JRock - 2010-10-15 09:39

Thanks for the replies. When you release an update plugin will XBMC notify me or will I have to wait to see a new *.zip file posted on here.

Also I lookforward to see the Discovery Channel listed. I have browsed Hulu in the past through your plugin and sometimes it seems its can be a little flaky. Sorry for no Debug rebort. Ill have to see how I can ADD HBO videos to the main screen rather then trying to navigate to there through the hulu icon

- BlueCop - 2010-10-15 09:44

Well if you tick the auto-update on the left side menu where you install addons then xbmc will update them for you. Otherwise you should get notification when I posted an update.

Right now to watch hbo videos you will have to search for the videos you want. There isn't a way to browse by show or anything. Also no saved searches. I keep meaning to do these things but get side tracked and distracted. I am very ADHD like with my focus.

Anyway I hope that answers your questions.

Also you do know that hbo doesn't host full episodes but only supplemental videos for many of their shows.

aptalca Wrote:Hey BlueCop, I noticed that no one made a plugin for CW yet. I don't know if they use rtmp or not, but I think people would appreciate it if someone made a plugin for it. (They have the show Nikita)

Just a suggestion. . .

Screw CW...we need the food network!! Nod

- BlueCop - 2010-10-15 09:49

If food network had good eats episode then I would be on it immediately. They need more Alton brown. He is like a badass geek chef.

Luckily I have my own archive.

Oooo looks like hulu added a few food network shows including good eats

hey I was wondering if there are any known issues with using your plug-ins on Dharma b3 or later on Linux. Currently I have Dharma b3 running on windows and all your plugins work great, but my main htpc is an ubuntu machine (10.1.0 if it makes a difference) running a self-compiled build of xbmc, and all the files in the various plugins will load, but none of the videos will play. If you need me to post some error logs I can do that tomorrow.

I would say that you didn't compile with librtmp support.

Best & Coolest Add-On ever! - puulima - 2010-10-21 02:44

This is beyond GREAT!

I had been playing around with various ways to launch Hulu Desktop and Boxee from XBMC so we could have the OnDemand TV "integrated" into XBMC...and use "Redd" pointed me over here...Thanks Redd!

It works like a charm, no stuttering, fast starting, much much easier/faster to find shows vs. navigating that horrible Hulu Desktop interface...(shudder). Also tried the CBS add-on since that content isn't available on Hulu and ran into a few odd snags - many shows don't display any full episodes at all - just tons of "clips" (Mike & Molly, Mentalist, The Good Wife). There is nothing listed for Hawaii 5-O, a few episodes for The Defenders, the 3 CSI incarnations, The Blue Bloods, Two & Half Men.

There are episodes on the CBS website for the shows with nothing showing up in the Add-on...so I went back to the Hulu Add-On and serached "off Hulu" and found all the episodes...not as quick to get to the shows though given the extra steps required...And then I noticed that all the bloody "clips" show up mixed in with the full episodes - and it's a bit of a guessing game to determine which of the items is the full episode.

So my questions: can the missing episodes on the CBS side be "found"? If not, is there a way to filter/decipher the full episodes from the clips on the off Hulu search?

And then if I understand the last few pages of this thread - the days may be numbered for this Add-On working unless somebody steps up to fix the looming issue you're noting? How do we whip up some support for this? This add-on is way too cool to lose...I had been relying on Boxee but would rather spend ALL my time in XBMC-land...who's chain do we need to rattle...who do we have to buy the beer & sushi for Wink

Thanks again BlueCop!!

Addendum: can't get Favourites to work? Added a few shows (Both CBS and Hulu) and get an error saying the plugin scropt failed. I read a previous post in this thread noting something about missing quotes in the favourite? Here's what was added to my Favourites.xml file...am I missing some quotes?

<favourite name="Blue Bloods">ActivateWindow(10024,plugin://plugin.video.cbs/?url="%2F%2Fprimetime%2Fblue_bloods%2F%2F"&mode="List"&name="Blue+Bloods"&plot=""&thumbnail="")</favourite>

<favourite name="The Young and the Restless">ActivateWindow(10024,plugin://plugin.video.cbs/?url="%2F%2Fdaytime%2Fthe_young_and_the_restless%2F%2F"&mode="List"&name="The+Young+and+the+Restless"&plot=""&thumbnail="")</favourite>

<favourite name="Brothers & Sisters" thumb="special://masterprofile/Thumbnails/Video/4/48028ae3.tbn">ActivateWindow(10024,plugin://plugin.video.hulu/?url="http%3A%2F%2Fm.hulu.com%2Fmenu%2F10520%3Fshow_id%3D2305"&mode="ShowPage"&name="Brothers+%26+Sisters"&art="http%3A%2F%2Fassets.hulu.com%2Fshows%2Fkey_art_brothers_and_sisters.jpg"&fanart="http%3A%2F%2Fassets.hulu.com%2Fshows%2Fkey_art_brothers_and_sisters.jpg"&page="1"&popular="false"&updatelisting="false")</favourite>

I am a bit confused on your wording. It might be the tequila though so don't take it personally. I am aware of some CBS problems and I was waiting for the their move to html5 but that seems to not be coming as soon as I expected. I just didn't want to work on a bunch of fixes for something that was about to change. It seems they are not transitioning as quickly as I heard. Most of the code is pretty old and I am surprised it is still somewhat working.

If you would submit the issues that are important to you to the google code project then I can easily manage and not forget about the issue. I am usually on some kind of bender so my memory doesn't work as well in those situations. I try to be responsive on the forum but I often forget things people report here. It is just so much easier to have a easy list to refer to.

The new swf verification is worrisome but I don't doubt that someone will figure it out. I would really prefer sites move away from flash but that is what everyone is using. Sad Don't go kicking peoples doors and telling them to implement it. The rtmpdump devs are aware of it and there just doesn't seem to be a motivation to work on it. It is going to require someone with the skill and motivation to do it. I am not sure where to find that person though.

get me some debug logs and I will try to figure out the problem with favorites. I haven't been using the plug-ins much lately because of various bender related activities. I haven't had my supply of thc which was my head saturater of choice for watching tv and working on plug-ins so I am relegated to alcohol which is makes me more social oriented. if prop 19 passes I might have to move to california.

Anyway I will try to look at CBS soon and get their show/episode lists working right. They were changing around their website ~6 weeks ago and I haven't looked at it sense. I watched a CSI episode with the plug-in but I haven't done anything else with it.

btw the hulu offsite should have duration meta data listed on the right side so that you can tell which are full episodes and which are clips. The hulu offsite search could be super bad ass but it didn't seem that people were that interested in it. I mostly get things working to the point of functionality that I really like and find them useful. If I don't get feedback on a specific feature then I am not really into adding much to it if I don't know other people use it.

anyway I would really like collaborators on this because I am mostly good at figuring things out. I enjoy taking things apart and trying to see how they function. I enjoy writing code less and I am honestly not that good at it. Almost everything I write is based on some other code I reference to know how something is done. It is usually very hackish and not very pretty. well I will end my drunken semi-rantingness and go get some sleep. Later and sorry for any incoherence.
