RE: [RELEASE] YouTube (Video) Plugin - De facto default standard YouTube Addon for XBMC - Milla - 2012-04-07

I run Eden on Win XP and rel. 2.9.1 and got script error. Did a rollback and now get error message 404 page not found from Youtube when exploring. How can I fix this? Cannot find rel. 2.9.2.

Macmini running OS 10.7.3/Eden 11.0

Turning off acceleration did the trick here.

RE: [RELEASE] YouTube (Video) Plugin - De facto default standard YouTube Addon for XBMC - paulmcmn - 2012-04-09

Hey guys,

I've got a query with respect to JSON RPC to this plugin.

I am using one of the firefox/greasemonkey addons to send to the plugin a requested video to watch. I have tried both the latest trunk and the plugin installed via the addons library and still get the same response:
Code:
09:38:54 T:3037031280   DEBUG: JSONRPC: Incoming request: {"jsonrpc": "2.0", "method": "XBMC.Play", "params":{ "file" : "plugin://plugin.video.youtube/?action=play_video&videoid=qu4Aq3KYCZs" }, "id" : 1}
09:38:54 T:3037031280   DEBUG: JSONRPC: Calling xbmc.play

09:39:14 T:3037031280   DEBUG: JSONRPC: Incoming request: {"jsonrpc": "2.0", "method": "XBMC.Play", "params":{ "file" : "plugin://plugin.video.youtube.beta/?action=play_video&videoid=qu4Aq3KYCZs" }, "id" : 1}
09:39:14 T:3037031280   DEBUG: JSONRPC: Calling xbmc.play

Then nothing occurs... no further log entries, nothing. I have the plugin debug mode enabled AND xbmc debug mode enabled.

Hi all,

I'm unable to download any videos using the plugin anymore? This includes my own videos on my channel? It just sticks on "preparing download" but nothing actually happenes.

Al has been working fine until now?

Can anyone else test the download of a video and post if its successful or not before I get the log book out Smile

This is probably under developpement but I really wish one future feature would be able to play a playlist ! Smile

ie: you have a playlist of 10 videos and they all play in a row without pressing anything, like youtube for the pc.

To reproduce, play a local file, run Youtube addon, select search, type a few letters. Repeat last 2 steps if it does not happen.

By search dialog I suppose you mean Loading dialog? In that case I have the exact same problem, apart from it being everytime I play a video and try to open search, no matter if it's a local video or a video from youtube etc.

I'm having this same issue, any thoughts on a fix?

Same issue under ubuntu 11.10. Loading dialog appears without entering any searching content.

RE: [RELEASE] YouTube (Video) Plugin - De facto default standard YouTube Addon for XBMC - AuXBoX - 2012-04-16

When watching videos on this addon with xbmcubuntu it's very slow to stream, but when i watch the same thing on my windows computer it plays perfectly just from the youtube website.
Is anyone getting this aswell?

RE: [RELEASE] YouTube (Video) Plugin - De facto default standard YouTube Addon for XBMC - patapouf69 - 2012-04-16

Hi,

When we rent a movie with google play, the movie that we have rented is placed in purchase section on YouTube. I tried to find this section on the plugin but i didn't see it. Is it possible to have access and play the movies in this section? If not i thing it would be a great feature to add the purchase section to the plugin.

Thank you

howdys guys,

just got the youtube app, i selected the hard drive on my network that all my media is on to download the youtube vids to, however once they download they do not move to that location they stay in the script.module.simple.downloader folder in user data.

if i choose to download them to my mac hard drive from my mac, they go where intended.

something to do with the network drive but not sure what it could be, any ideas?

cheers
There appears to be a problem with xbmcvfs(which uses core XBMC). This is now confirmation of that issue. I will push it upstream

It would be nice to have a "loading..." indicator. Because it can take a long time to load up big playlists and top 100 ect.
And right now it just looks like a frozen screen while it is fetching data.

Also, it would be nice to be able to hide the "change plugin settings" from the normal menu.
Since it can also be accessed by the "s" menu. Could i do that manually? What file?

And hiding "my history" and in explore, hide "youtube education".

So yeah, Loading... and hiding stuff. And plugin is awesome, thnx all.
XBMC should pop a "Loading" indicator automatically, if it doesn't it is probably your skin that doesn't show it.

You can hide most folders in the youtube settings dialog.

They are RTMPE streams, which can't be supported without rtmpdump being updated.(No fix exists as of yet).

1) I'm kinda worried about storing Youtube credentials in XBMC as now all Google products fall under the same terms of service agreement. The credentials are now the same for gmail, +plus, as well as youtube. You store one set but that opens all the other google products.

2) Do you think the code could be modified to show (scrape) only one channel? So instead of being able to search/watch most Youtube content, instead you see all the videos related to Automotive Week, let's say. I can see where one channel could be useful in certain settings.

1) You don't have to store your password, you can leave it empty and the YouTube addon will ask you when it needs to log on. It really shouldn't need the password that often.

2) Nope.

I'll try to fix this issue in coming versions of the downloader.

Try deleting your ~/.xbmc/userdata/Databases/commoncache.db (look in the wiki for paths on OSX/Windows/iOS) and restart xbmc.

I have seen this quite a bit on my linux machine, this is the first time i've had confirmation on a different OS. I'll try to upstream since it isn't a plugin issue.

This will probably never be implemented.

If someone wants this implemented, then the first step is to go rent a movie. Play it in the browser, and then pastebin the source code and pop it here.

IF the movie is not played back with RTMP(very unlikely), then it could possibly be done, but someone else would have to do it, or someone would have to give me a VCC to use.

The Plug-In was working great and still works, however videos automatically repeat now when there's no setting for such. How do I fix that?
