Having the same problem. Hangs on Loading directory and then nothing.

I never had any problem searching videos. I only had problem with everything else in this add-on (Explore YouTube etc.). Are these fixed with this solution?

Did you apply both the zipfiles (including the simpledownloader fix)? Because this certainly does work.

Should work now. Download again:

Can confirm the "Play All" works on XBMC Eden / Linux Mint 12 after applying this zipfile, and the original simple.downloader zipfile:

Thank you Anteo!
It works on my Raspbmc too!

First I uninstalled the Youtube-plugin and the SimpleDownloader. Than I did 'Install add-on from zip-file' your version of Youtube, the Simpledownloader followed by itself and now it works again! Thanks!

RaspBMC on Raspberry Pi :-)

[RELEASE] YouTube (Video) Plugin - De facto default standard YouTube Addon for XBMC - Canyaya - 2012-09-16

After downloading your fixes, do I then use the " install from zip file" option? Or do I have to extract them then put them in the correct directory? If so, where exactly do they go? Thank you for your help

(2012-09-15, 15:53)anteo Wrote: I managed to fix issues described above. I've attached fixed versions of video youtube (3.1.0) and simple downloader (0.9.3) plugins. What issues are fixed:
  • latest change in YouTube that totally broke viewing videos
  • unsupported (=http) protocol problem
  • exceptions in transformAnnotationToSSA (list out of index) for some videos
  • subtitles are not displayed
  • videos with non-ascii names are not downloaded or downloaded with all non-ascii characters stripped (I tested fix on Windows platform, so not sure about correct downloading on *nix platforms)

This worked for me running Eden 11.0. Thanks!

Assuming you're on Windows: extract them to your 'user\appdata\roaming\xbmc\addons\' folder, after renaming the original folders (so you at least have a backup of those). Works on Win7-64bit, 11.0 Eden.

This should all be done outside of XBMC.

It works in my RaspBMC too!
I sent the two folders, already unzipped, to the rPi using ssh via scp; and then I moved it to /home/pi/.xbmc/addons/ (of course before I erased the old version of the two folders).
Thanks Anteo!!

Could the fact I have two-factor authentication be an issue? It doesn't prompt me to put in an authenticator pin and gives me a failed login prompt.
You have to have a separate password for accounts like this. Go to this page and create an application specific password.

An update to my crystalbuntu issue: seems to have been fixed by following the manual install method above (just adjusted for a linux environment). Didn't have to set up a per application token since the plugin will ask for an authenticator pin when working properly.
