t2ffn Wrote:@ HenrikDK,

Thanks. I've spent ages getting things just right, adding favorites, icons etc to Alaska, downloading the addons I want... If I update to the newest XBMCFreak CD I will overwrite everything wont I? So will have to start again adding the bits I've added, iPlayer, ITV Catch up etc?

I've run sudo apt-get upgrade and update, but this hasn't updated my XBMC.

Can anyone confirm XBMCFreak Beta 2 will wipe my old install and I'll have to add everything again? I'll prob leave it until official Dharma if that is the case.

Thanks

xbmc-Freak is a new OS... it will overwrite your existing OS unless you install to a different partition then you would have a choice as to which you wanted to boot to and use.

Thats what I thought, which means loads of hassle setting everything back up afterwards, and then official Dharma will be released soon and do it again.

Think I'll wait.

Thanks

Hi

I have trouble with the download movie function in this addon. I get the message: download video uncaught video.
Some videos starts downloading without problems, I think maybe its problems with videos containing the letters æ, ø, å. in the filename. Is it possible to fix this?

Here is my debug log ( I think this is the right one): http://pastebin.com/Sy2LcjFc

Im running dharma beta2 in Win7 on an asrock ion 330ht\bd

Help is very appreciatedSmile

Hmm, we don't really do any filtering on filenames so that might be the problem, a fix for this will be included in the beta of the next version Smile

Looking forward to thatSmile keep up the good work with this nice plugin, its getting better and better.

Btw, is it possible to add youtubevideos into the same playlists as my local musicfiles? If not, that whould be a great feature for this plugin (if its possible)

Hm, i'm not sure if that is possible, but i have an idea i'm going to try out.

hmm, I think I must be doing something wrong. None of the 4oD videos work for me, I just get an 'Uncaught Error' when I go to play them. All other youtube vids work fine.

I'm running the version downloaded from the google page, and running Dharma beta 2.

Any ideas? Oo

Are you logged in?

The video requires that you verify your age, which it can't do without login, and when i have tested age restricted videos it has always just worked.

- Sneeka - 2010-09-28

Yeah, it comes up saying 'Logged In' when I exit the plugin settings. Is there something in my actual youtube account that I have to set?

Just tried it again and it's definitely logging in as I can see all my subscriptions and own videos. Still not working with the 4od vids though Huh

- Sneeka - 2010-09-28

Well, I've just tried signing up with a completely new youtube account and using that instead, but still the same thing. Also tried on a completely different PC, and still no go..

As you say, looking at the log, it seems to be the age restriction page it's stopping at - yet I'm definitely Logged In.

Argh.

Apart from that, great plugin Smile

Hi, first things first. I can see that there is a bug in the code that's causing the specific exception you are seeing, but I believe it would still fail even when fixed as the result doesn't contain any video url. BUT, and I'm not really sure about this part, it seems that you haven't set up any defaults on your account (the html dump contains a lot of stuff about region and language settings), so I'm wondering if you've ever verified your age on the site before? Because I can't get YouTube to ask me again (one would hope that youtube would store that information and not ask again, which if I'm not mistaken would fix the problem Smile)

As a side note, from looking through the log and corresponding code, the video you're trying to play seems to be a RTMPE stream, that won't work with the version in the official XBMC repo since this feature was removed by request from the xbmc team (see previous posts about DMCA etc.). In order to play such videos you need the version that can be downloaded from the plugin home page:

http://code.google.com/p/youtubexbmc/

- jmarshall - 2010-09-29

Just a heads up: The official repository is now accepting rtmp(e) addons - they'll be hosted outside of the US but will be available to users everywhere. Please ensure you have a statement to the effect of: "some parts of this addon may not be legal in your country of residence - please check with your local laws" in the <disclaimer>.

Cheers,
Jonathan

Thanks for the reply Smile

I assume I have verified my age on youtube, as I can login to youtube through my browser and play the same videos without any age verification prompt. Same login username/password used, and all on the same pc as xbmc.

I've tried removing the plugin and installing it again fresh (downloading from your code.google.com site), and yet still the same error. Does it use a cache or something that I need to delete maybe? I'm running out of things to try Confused

Hmm, then it would seem there's a bug in the plugin with regards to age verification, and to be frank I can't see that we have any specific logic dealing with this right now, but I'm not that familiar with that specific part of code. I will look into it.. Smile

This is really weird. I will look into it for the next Beta.
