No special version just using the windows version from the xbmc download area. I had dharma beta 2 and had the issue with youtube. So I installed Beta 4 and still had the issue. I did an install right over beta 2, didn't uninstall it first, not sure if that matters.

Code:
19:30:04 T:3880 M:3163914240  NOTICE: YouTube-1.9.4 ARGV: ['plugin://plugin.video.youtube.beta/', '0', '']
19:30:04 T:3880 M:3163738112   ERROR: Win32DllLoader::Load: Unable to load special://xbmc/system/python/DLLs\_ssl.pyd (5)
19:30:04 T:3880 M:3163738112   ERROR: LoadLibrary('_ssl.pyd') failed

ERROR: YouTubeCore::login (98) - <urlopen error unknown url type: https>

Are you using a special xbmc distrobution? cause the error from your logs is the same that was reported a few pages back (with openelec.tv), and should have been fixed by the team. Basically your xbmc distribution is missing SSL support which is needed to login to youtube. If this is a problem with standard xbmc then please file a bug report on the trac so the team can fix it Smile

Just want creator to know that the plugin works great for me, being able to just view recent subscription releases is pretty awesome.

Got perhaps a couple of suggestions.

First of all when I download files, it works most of the time. Just not when downloading from http://www.youtube.com/user/Games. I have it set to 720 so perhaps it is downloading the mp4's. The file appears just without a .flv handle and almost no file size.

Secondly.
Would be neat to have a link within the youtube plugin which directs you to youtube downloads folder. And maybe even a link which lets you add 5/10/20 new subscription videos to queue.

Either way keep up the good work.

Also one other thing,
Would it be possible to mark watched/unwatched videos.

Hi could you be a bit more specific and point to a specific video, and include a log with the plugins debug mode enabled, that would make it easier to figure out what exactly is going on..

A link to the download folder could perhaps be done, I will look into it.

As for a download queue, XBMC's current plugin structure doesn't allow the plugin to remain running when not generating a folder listing I can't really see a way for this to be done. :/

The plugin should already support marking videos as watched after playback, is there anything other than that you're looking for?

Just wanted to respond to this.

Again there's not much we can do on our end. But I would recommend that you re-install xbmc, and make sure that the application folder and its content is completely gone. Otherwise you might post in the genneral help and support forum and ask if anyone else has experienced problems with ssl missing from python on the windows version of xbmc.

Well generally every video I have downloaded from that channel, up to 8 or so, has not downloaded properly. So you could give it a try for yourself and see what the problem is. My log file is full of trakt announcements.

But I know for a fact that some youtube HD is in .mp4 format, does your plug-in account for this?

For example
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRbV7xazEyw

Try to download 720 format.

I was thinking more of adding it to the playlist queue. If that is possible.

Generally the plugin doesn't care what format the video is in, we basically just grab a datastream from the webserver and send it to disk with the location you specified in settings (and always with the .mp4 extension). There should be no difference on your end.

But, I will give the video a go and report back. Smile would still like a log though since i don't know what OS distribution you are on, if there are any other circumstances etc etc

There should already be a context menu item on the videos that allow queueing a video to xbmc's internal playlist Smile

Hi all,

Been having problems playing 4OD content on the YTA plugin.

Been reading through the posts and I have similar problem as procrastinator:

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?p=597170#post597170

However, nothing plays, same error everytime, i get the tiltle of the show, but when I click to play almost instantly the message 'uncaught error' appears.

Any solutions to fixing this?

Thanks

We' haven't been able to nail the problem behind this, but if you are able to reproduce the error consistently a log with the plugins debug mode enabled would be very much appreciated Smile.

I was thinking it would be easier to group queue say recently unwatched new subscription releases. Instead of having to individually select each one.

plumser Wrote:Thx for the quick reply!
i've been fiddling with curl for about an hour with no results. I also tried putting the xbmc machine in a demilitarized zone on the router which should put the router out of the equation.
i still get the problem with curl timing out..

Dunno if anyone remember my problem but anyway. I didn't manage to get the plugin working after hours of fiddling with curl, making a complete fresh install etc etc.. Eventually, after not getting it to work I just stopped caring and forgot about it. Until now Smile
I had some problems with the weather plugin. It didn't update automatically when starting up xbmc so i researched this and found that having a static ip could fix this (have used dhcp with address-reservations for my xbmc machine in my router settings).
After assigning a static ip I rebooted, and the weather service was, to my amazement, now working. So just for the hell of it I tried the youtube-plugin and it worked!!

So to anyone who might experience the same problem as I was, try using a static ip Smile

Thanks to HenrikDK and TobiasTheCommie for a great plugin that I now can enjoy!

We could add a "queue folder" option to the "new subscriptions videos" context menu item, but theres no real way to discern between watched and unwatched videos, as that data is managed inside xbmc

- Drir - 2010-11-22

Queuing should be fine.
Was thinking the other day it would be neat if xbmc started scraping internet videos.

- Ara1 - 2010-11-22

would it be possible to display the channelname and the date or time since the video got added in the "New Subscription Videos" Category?
