However, looking at the log, I just figured out that my PeerGuardian was blocking the connection to YouTube. So I'd suggest turning off PeerGuardian (or similar) and/or adding exceptions to your firewall, cos it seems to have fixed mine.

I use this and I get exactly the information you seem to be talking about. Haven't used the other one in a while because the beta is where it's at.

Another completely unrelated suggestion would be can we designate the order of our subscriptions. Some I like to regularly browse through would be good not to have to go through pages to get to them.

Spiff asked about this earlier, youtubes api seems to be broken on this request, i've tried messing with the switches for listing subscriptions but it doesnt seem to have any efffect.

i'll try to post a full log. No I'm not using any other plugins or whatever.
Concerning YouTube I am using the official plugin 1.8.1 which doesn't work at all. With the beta plugin I am getting at least thumbnails. Clicking on one of them results in "Uncaught Error".
I am an "normal user" - My intention was to stream pics, videos, music and to get some access to internet sites through XBMC which I can display via HDMI on my TV.
After the installlation and test of some basic features like this one reported I run into this script errors for some sites I tested.
Additionally I have experienced that some mpeg files were displayed and some not. Replaying them with e.g. VLC Player worked fine.
As said I'll post my logs asap to this forum.
Thanks for any help. I feel that XBMC could be the streaming software I was looking for.

Very good plugin dude, not had allot of luck with plugins for video but yours is top notch. Could I ask a favor? one thing is missing that would make this plugin PERFECT would be adding TV catchup to the list. Then within this, a sub list for selecting the tv station, and one for genre.

Part of your request seems to be in the show scraper already added under the explore youtube category in the latest beta. But the catchup part seems to only be available for UK citizens, short of someone donating a UK based VPN for testing I don't see us having any opportunity to work on this

I still have a problem though with the default view in the search results. I would like to have "Full list" as a default, but in the plugin options there are only 3 choises, thumbnail videos, thumbnails everywhere (??) and xbmc default. Will there be more working (including the Full List) choices in future updates?

This solutions is hopefully only temporary as it's really just a hack, we have created a trac for this issue some time ago which you can probably find a mention of it earlier in this thread.
This feature only works if your using the confluence skin thats default with xbmc.
Video Thumbnails = only video lists will be presented as thumbnails
Thumbnails Everywhere = all listings will be presented as thumbnails
XBMC default = this is the same as switching the feature off and will allow xbmc to use its default file listing for the plugin.
Btw what is a "full list"? (please post a screenshot)

YouTube update Where did search go? - skewba98z28 - 2010-12-23
I fired up xbmc today and it said YouTube add-on updated. Now I have no option to search videos. I can explore but that just gives a list YouTube creates for whatever category you choose.
