This is very wierd,

Basically I can see that you login and list your recommended videos on youtube but after that the only error i can see is an internal XBMC error about the remote control not registering..

Code:

21:51:59 T:2164 M:437751808   ERROR: Previous line repeats 3 times.

XBMC never ask the plugin to resolve video playback for the item, so the best guess I can give is that xbmc currently has a bug with plugins on windows 7? Have you tried any other video plugins that work?

- krish_2k4 - 2011-03-20

yeap just installed the Yahoo Music Video plugin from bluecops registery and that is not working too when i press enter.

however the tvcatchup plugin, icefilms, bbc iplayer and apple trailers plugins are working fine.

what i'll do is update xbmc to the 19th march nightly build and report back.

- krish_2k4 - 2011-03-20

ok installed the new nightly build (19th march)

i played the tvcatchup plugin and it worked, went to the youtube plugin and it didnt work.

also the apple trailers one does not work now when i press enter, but when i play through the options menu it plays Huh

is it a bug in the windows version? the enter button seems to work for some plugins and not others.

- krish_2k4 - 2011-03-20

sorry posting too many times but i dont think there is a problem with the plugin. i tried it on different skins and the enter key works to play the video on confluence but not on alaska.

ive made a topic on http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?p=754919#post754919

Did something change in the youtube site today?

I am getting an Uncaught error every time I try to play any video file in both youtube 2.0.2 and beta 1.9.6 version of the add-on.

Confirmed on youtube plugin V2.0.2,

Code:
Starting XBMC, Platform: Linux (Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS - XBMCLive Dharma, 2.6.32-26-generic i686). Built on Mar  9 2011 (Git:Unknown)

Code:
uname -a
Linux XBMCLive 2.6.32-26-generic #48-Ubuntu SMP Wed Nov 24 09:00:03 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux

full xbmc.log with debugging on:

http://pastebin.com/S3g7bLxR

I know it was working last night so the change was extremely recent.

I concur, Yesterday It was working perfectly fine on beta 1.9.6, so the change seems very recent.

was working about 6 hours ago today, now this error. I swear these places deliberately change stuff to bugger up plugins and whatnot... apple do it every other week as well.

- evanroheff21 - 2011-03-24

I just wanted to confirm that I am also having the same issue (Playback Failed: Uncaught Error) on XBMC 10.1 running on Ubuntu Linux 10.4.02 (Linux 2.6.32-29-generic).

It was working perfectly earlier today, then when went to use it tonight, I can't get any videos to play, whether I'm logged in or not. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin, but no luck.

EDIT: Using version 2.0.2 of the YouTube plugin, in case that matters. Seems like a change in the YouTube API to me, so the plugin probably isn't at fault.

Youtube has switched to handshake 9, along with a few other sites. The rtmp guys are on it, but this one's likely not going to be a quick fix.

Hope it will be soon because I'm having the same problemSad.

Thanks for the quick update on the problem!

I realize it's hard to give time estimates for this kind of thing, but what do you consider "not a quick fix"? A week? A month?

While TheUni is correct about the version 9 rtmp handshake this only applies to a small subset of video content.

It seems that the youtube decided to change encoding on their html and that is currently messing with our url extraction code. I've had a fix in our trunk since last night (caught this error while watching up on some lets plays). I wanted to see if this was a temporary problem with youtubes servers but it seems that its a permanent change so I'll push a bugfixing update out later today.
