Just wanted to say thanks. I really like this. It will be extremely useful.

Script works great! Thanks PPIC.

Quick question: Is there any way this could be tied in down the road to where we could pull this info up while in TV show view instead of running separately? XBMC is starting to get really exciting with all this development push recently.

as you can see in the first post, it's planned to make this infos available to skins

Suggestion: Why not find a way to somehow pull the data from sickbeard for users that have it, since there is probably a LARGE overlap in the groups of people who use these two programs.

This would likely speed up initial scraping, and unnecessary re-scraping of the same information that sickbeard has already scraped.

For me, this + the ability to add shows manually (in the event that they are things I don't want to schedule through sickbeard but would otherwise like to keep track of) would be all that was necessary--no need to scan the library at all.

what's sickbeard?

currently i have some difficulties to hit tvrage.com

The idea of scraping from/adding to sickbeard would be fantastic.

Sickbeard is a TV episode downloader for Newsgroups and Torrents.

btw: Great skin Smile

yes, but it will need sickbeard to be installed, that's not kind of things i want.

Then don't require it. You could make an option to either have your plugin scan the library itself, or just to rely on sickbeard, since it would have scanned the library already.

Even if it WERE required--I really don't see why this is undesirable. I would be willing to bet that the vast majority who would use this script would be using sickbeard or a program like sickbeard as well.

Obviously, if they have cable, they have access to a viewing guide already... and if they don't have cable, then why do they care when a show airs unless they plan to acquire it somehow? It seems to me that your plugin and sickbeard target the exact same audience.

Most importantly, I think it might help overcome a large problem with the functionality of your plugin, which is the long time it takes to scan the library and scrape for the show information. Why not at least create the option to let sickbeard take care of all of that heavy lifting? This is especially true if I am right in that most of this plugins users will also be using sickbeard, which makes this arduous process simply redundant for most users.

But I digress, because I am thankful for your great plugin! Keep up the good work, however you see fit.

well, good point !

i've got to try sickbeard ta adapt the plugin.

The script works great but for some reason doesn't list True Blood in my episode list?! Any ideas?

- ppic - 2010-09-20

I installed this add-on and can find in in Videos/Add-Ons but when I select it in the list nothing happens.

How do I use this?

- ppic - 2010-09-21
