Like I said everytime i want to check out the next aired overview it needs to update itself. If it updates at midnight every day and I check it out at 20.00 in the evening it shouldn't be updating then because it's still within the 24h of the last update.

Any idea why it isn't updating then at midnight? Unfortunately I'm not at home atm, I will turn on debugging log this evening to see what is going on at midnight.

Here is a debug log, as I suspected there is no next aired activity at midnight.

Feature request: In settings, it would be nice to have a list of shows in the library that we could toggle to "ignore." I apologize if this has been brought up before. It does seem like an obvious idea and I was hesitant to post it for that reason.

On a different note, I'd really appreciate if someone can share or link to a method of placing a shortcut to TV Show Next Aired beneath the Videos home screen section (of Confluence). By default, as far as I know, it can only be added to the Programs section.

Why would you want to ignore shows? Besides I don't think it's possible because we can't add anything dynamic to the settings.

If your second statement is true then my point is moot, but my thinking with an ignore list was to allow users to remove listings that clutter the calendar view. For instance, I like The Colbert Report and have a few episodes in my library, but it airs 4 new episodes most weeks. Being able to ignore/skip shows like this (especially if someone has a few of these type of weekday shows in their library) would reduce the Next Aired listings to exactly the things we don't want to miss.

Additional benefits may be that updates occur faster (depending on how many shows a person ignores) and tvrage wouldn't have to be scraped for as much data.

RE: [RELEASE] TV Show Next Aired (Script) Addon - `Black - 2012-03-15

I think that should be integrated in XBMC so there would be central way of selecting important/unimportant shows. It could be used for watchlist (and maybe other add-ons) as well. Another thing that could be possible is with a playlist maybe... so you can add shows to a playlist and specify it in the add-on settings.

Are you sure the script runs itself automatically (updating data) at midnight? I don't think that's the case since it doesn't run in the background.

yeah, if it's run by the skin at startup.
check lines 101-108.

you're using a reasonably old build of xbmc.
i pretty sure you'll have more luck with xbmc rc2

RE: [RELEASE] TV Show Next Aired (Script) Addon - bigdawgte - 2012-03-17

That's weird. Actually my build is 2:11.0~git20120229.f38655f-0ubuntu1~ppa1~oneiric. Wonder what is corrupted/I have to delete to get this straight.

according to your log:
Quote:19:47:04 T:6154704 NOTICE: Starting XBMC, Platform: Linux (Ubuntu 11.10, 3.0.0-16-generic i686). Built on Aug 19 2011 (Git:20110818-b2a5a4c)

most likely you have two installations of xbmc?

edit:
your running the one installed in /usr/local

RE: [RELEASE] TV Show Next Aired (Script) Addon - bigdawgte - 2012-03-17

I can't get it properly reflect the correct build, I have uninstalled and purged it, to no avail.
That was it, I deleted that one and now its working. Thanks a million!
