Also getting pissed off. Paid for this remote back near January sometime & still waiting. Wife is constantly on my back about being ripped off & who can blame her.
I was joking when I made the comment above... I didn't think anyone would take it seriously... hence the smiley.. You should have confidence. This was a preorder and we have been kept fairly informed.

My wife is kinda pissed about the wait as well because back in April when I ordered it, I needed a remote "now", I figured I could wait a month for such a great product. We're using a wireless keyboard and calling it the remote for now. It's unwieldy, big, and it sucks for range and setting it on the arm of the chair, but it works..

We will get our remotes. I just want to smooth over the revolt I started with my smartass comment.

There's a Motorola building in Swindon UK. Do you think I could pop over and start a protest outside the gate? Wink

The most fustrating thing is after updating my linux system a while ago, my MCE remote on iMon reciever stopped working & I've not really looked into fixing it thinking that this remote is on it's way.

Anyway I'll shutup now & wait patiently. Hope the remote will be worth it Smile

Everything is progressing nicely still, it's been a frustrating wait, I just got back from meeting Motorola at IBC this weekend (hence no blog updates etc) and all is still on track, I've also checked with TNT regarding delivery times etc, 500 units are due to leave the factory in china on the 21st, we expect to get them on the 23rd or the 26th and will dispatch in the afternoon of the 26th (our collection is at 4:30pm local time) so if your in the UK, expect them the next day, if your further afield add a couple of days

The next batch of 1k units is due to leave the factory on the 28th, so the cycle continues like that for a few weeks

Sent in a PM as I was unsure if this thread was the right place for it

Not exactly. Google purchased Motorola Mobility, not all of Motorola.

How many orders have their been at the moment?

Just a small update, everything is on track to leave china on the 21st, they first go to HK, thats on the 23rd, from there they fly to Dusseldorf, before onward to the UK, so we will hopefully see them in our warehouse on the 27th not the 26th

Set up my first XBMC Live box a few months ago, around the time this was first announced, and have been eagerly awaiting it ever since. The final piece in a slick solution - XBMC has moved on a lot since I played with it on the Xbox years ago!

Anyway - point of my post was just to say I got to wrap my mitts around one of these on the Motorola stand at IBC, and I'm still happily waiting for it to arrive. Felt well made, bit chunky (as expected) but solid and nice in the hand. Keyboard action was pretty convincing, bit small for churning out an email but absolutely fine for a search term here and a shortcut there.

Quick question for Malard - IIRC something (plaque or the rep) on the Motorola stand suggested that all of the keys on the remote side are IR programmable - is this correct?

Unsurprisingly the Motorola rep on the stand had his own excuse for the delay but he was towing the line so not putting much weight behind that.
