Revo 3610 - Wifi not working - Inglorious - 2010-09-12 Hi, I just got my new Revo 3610 and installed XBMC Live (10.0 Beta 1 from XBMC Freak). In Windows 7 (I have a dual boot setup), my Wifi is working fine. However, in XBMC, I get nothing. I configured some stuff manually (adding wlan0 to the interfaces file), but I quickly discovered that I'm not able to see any wireless networks, let alone connet to one. Doing "iwlist wlan0 scan" gives me a message to the effect that it's not seeing anything. So I thought maybe the I'll bring the interface down and up again with ifconfig: "ifconfig wlan0 down" seems to work, but when I do "ifconfig wlan0 up" I get "operation not permitted". I looked here and in the help forums for Ubuntu, but I can't seem to find an answer for this one. I'm pretty new with Linux so there might be something obvious I'm missing... Could it be a drivers issue (it's the RT2860 Ralink chipset)? If so, how do I install a new one? BTW, wired networking works fine, if that helps. - kaistian - 2010-09-14 What have you in your interfaces file and what kind of wireless encryption are you using? |
