c-shadow Wrote:But sometimes it boots without sound, and xbmc complains about missing soundcard. Also, fast forwarding a file (H264, mkv container) audio is out of sync.

Anybody tried that?
Or updating xbmc to some nightly build?
In current state I have a working vaapi and xbmc freezing and lagging all the time. Any ideas anyone?

I have the same problems. Sometimes the file just starts with sound out of sync and I have to pause, rewind a little and play. I also get tearing on some of the 24p content.

Does anyone have an idea on how to update the catalyst drivers to 11.6 without having to compile from source? I also have a working XBMC Live installation from nemek, don't want to break something that is working pretty well.

Hello,
I have the same problem when installing as Ghost22.

Ghost22 Wrote:. . . . . .
I am unable to install it, it will just hang, and pop to a menu asking for what to do next, and no matter what you select is begins installing to the system.

What can I do?
Are the isos flawed.

I have the iso version
http://xbmc.exstatic.org/xbmc-10.0-live-amd.iso
or
http://xbmc.exstatic.org/xbmc-10.0-live-amd/
on a CDRW burned, but the installation always hangs at the same point
[!!]Install the system
Please help me, where is the mistake?
Sad

Unfortunately

Try openelec. It is better than the version you used:

Here's another Link for Nemek's XBMC-Live (AMD-Version) --> LINK.
This Link should be working. Smile

@Robotica: Nice, OpenElec seems to be ready in the next public version.

Cheers

@Robotica
Unfortunately I have too little knowledge of Linux, since I'm a year-long Windows user.
The installation appears to be quite complicated, for a user like me.
Nevertheless, of course, thank you!

@ubuntuf4n
So I invite now first download the iso and i hope that finally the installation works
Thank you also for your answer

PS.:i have the GA-E350N-USB3 Mainboard

It's an appliance meaning: just run the live cd and install. It's nearly as easy as installing windows. And easier (and also better in usage) than installing the outdated .iso you're working with. You need to update a whole lot in that .iso to get evefrything working... But find out for yourself....

I believe you will, of course, and learn something too.
I've downloaded this file
OpenELEC-Fusion.i386-devel-r7517.tar.bz2 20,110,717

When I read through the install I am sorry to say that I have no idea how I install OpenElec
I am almost ashamed for it
:-(

lol... it took you lesss than an hour from being afraid of Linux to a working AMD Fusion system based on Linux.
However, it is still early development and not totally optimized as it can. Try to stay updated for the comming period.

About network: there is an openelec adddon where you can enter network preferences..

I'm fine now also assign a fixed IP address.
A really great project!

Keyword openelec-update,
I must note something that my films and music are not deleted during an update?
Or is my fear unfounded?

sylvio2000 Wrote:I dont want to buy Atom anymore if there is a better, faster alternative named fusion. But for now there might be glitches with Linux (XBMC) and hardware acceleration (as stated in this thread).

Now I have 2 questions:

1. Will the fusion apu run without any flaws in Windows7 (XBMC) with DXVA2?
2. Would it make any difference to install kernel 2.6.38 in XBMC Live (Linux) regarding more stable hardware acceleration?

You can always buy a Zacate based HTPC now and use it with Win 7 (works great) and when the dedicated fusion -openelec comes out, you jump out to it.

The costs of Windows 7 OS compared to the HTPC is rater high if you intend to use it only for a few months.... That's also the reason why I'm waiting to build a new HTPC..
