For (@*#$ sake, at least get a drop box account. It's free and allows direct linking. Then there was no one seeding a few days later I noticed it finally completed. I'll leave it open for a while, but NZB are much faster: http://xbmc.exstatic.org/xbmc-10.0-live-amd.nzb http://xbmc.exstatic.org/xbmc-10.0-live-amd.iso http://xbmc.exstatic.org/xbmc-10.0-live-amd.iso.torrent Or split into rars: http://xbmc.exstatic.org/xbmc-10.0-live-amd/ Grab as: Code: curl -O http://xbmc.exstatic.org/xbmc-10.0-live-amd/xbmc-10.0-live-amd.part[01-53].rarGood if you have an unreliable internet connection. - magnetik - 2011-05-29 05:39 Robotica Wrote:Thnx. You made it even easier for a lot of people to get this started. See the updated OP for reference: Looking good - but might be good to add the actual steps to install XBMC and where that fits into the process - which don't seem to be there? - Ghost22 - 2011-05-29 11:30 That iso fixed up my lag problems, runs very smooth now, however only the live portion works. I am unable to install it, it will just hang, and pop to a menu asking for what to do next, and no matter what you select is begins installing to the system. - eddie4 - 2011-05-29 17:42 Ghost22 Wrote:I am unable to install it, it will just hang, and pop to a menu asking for what to do next, and no matter what you select is begins installing to the system. Same Issue here. - dazombie46 - 2011-05-31 00:48 darkscout Wrote:Uploading a .torrent file... to a website... with a captcha. For (@*#$ sake, at least get a drop box account. Do you want people to do a 'dd if=' and create a raw disk? Otherwise why shouldn't Unetbootin work? - dazombie46 - 2011-05-31 01:45 do a 'dd if=' and create a raw disk? i dont know what that means, sorry someone managed to make a working usb stick right?, so if someone would upload the files from their stick ,i could copy the files to my own stick. - magnetik - 2011-05-31 07:54 dazombie46 Wrote:someone managed to make a working usb stick right?, so if someone would upload the files from their stick ,i could copy the files to my own stick. I don't think you quite understand the comment - simply copying the files to a USB key won't work, since it wont write in the required boot loader/etc. required to get the USB key to 'boot' - hence why the full setup is passed around as an ISO. Best bet would be to use the 'Startup disk creator' in Ubuntu, or if on a Windows machine try the Unetbootin utility to write the ISO to a empty USB key. - gaspo100 - 2011-05-31 13:34 magnetik Wrote:Best bet would be to use the 'Startup disk creator' in Ubuntu, or if on a Windows machine try the Unetbootin utility to write the ISO to a empty USB key. This is what I did exactly. Took nemek's rar files, extracted to ISO and using Unetbootin created a bootable USB key. I did not have any problems to install XBMC from that USB key. Some USB keys can't be made bootable, so you might to try few different ones. - nemek - 2011-05-31 14:53 Quote:so if someone would upload the files from their stick ,i could copy the files to my own stick. This iso will boot without any "extra" work only if burned to cd as 1:1 copy. So you cant just "copy" files either to cd or usb. There must be some boot loader capable of booting from usb. Using unetbootin is easiest way to do this on windows. |
