Live CD Install Drive and Sound problems - holic - 2010-10-02
Hi All,
Can anyone help with this ... i have installed the live cd onto my drive and initially everything was fine it found my Asus Xonar D1 sound card and movies played great ... since then i have edited the the fstab to auto mount 2 internal drives formatted NTFS the trouble is these keep failing to mount as sometimes they are sdb1 sdc1 and sometimes they end up being sdc1 and sdd1 why are they not the same each time ? no other drives are being plugged in.
Also after attempting to get samba to work so i could share these drives up i no longer have sound. the live cd initally found my xonar and now its nowhere to be seen.

i have sorted the sound with a sudo apt-get dist-update and a reboot sound card detected again now
so just the mounting issue left

i have resolved this by using the UUID of the device instead
