Oh, easy.. each season folder has a fanart.jpg in it. Ember does most of it for me when scraping a show. Standard folder setup for tv shows. Each show has it's own folder, and each has a seperate folder for each season.

In T! I have to enable the season fanart option similar to Night. Only difference, when scrolling through the season list in T! the fanart changes as the focused season changes. I highlight Season 1 and see the fanart for it. Highlight Season 2 and the fanart changes without drilling down to episode level.

Makes on of the least interesting screens for shows a lot more interesting.

Thanks again for looking into it Smile

Thats how I got it but only working on episode level, anyways I just pushed to GIT Ronies T! code if you want to see if it works in Night...

Hot damn, you did it! Sure enough, flip through the season and the fanart is changing with it now. Man, this is way cool, thanks so much Big Grin

It's not changing for you when you look through the season list?

- Rygrath - 2010-12-15

Ah, think I found what you mean. Going through the different views, and seems like File List is the only one it's working for. Which I'm okay with.

Edit: Posted too soon, Fanart view works with it too, just as you'd expect it to Smile

Nope only episode level for me, oh well as long as it works...

That's because you need seson.tbn or jpg in the root of the series I think.

Example:

X:Series/Fringe/SesonX.jpg.tbn (for season level)
X:Series/Fringe/Seson X/SesonX.jpg.tbn (for episode level)

- mcborzu - 2010-12-16

Reading Ronie's code:

<texture background="true">$INFO[ListItem.Path]$INFO[ListItem.Label,,/fanart.jpg]</texture>

I think translates to: Bones/Season 2/fanart.jpg, the other guy says it works so I'm good, confused as I have same folder structure as him, but as long as he says in works in both T! and Night I'm good...

- KiSUAN - 2010-12-16

I have the same structure as i mention before, but with the season fanart also at the root of the serie.

And the thing is that from what I understand the code translates folder/fanart.jpg, so if you are in season level with that folder structure it would be Bones/fanart.jpg and when you are at episode level is Bones/SesonX/fanart.jpg. So if you don't have fanart at Serie root level no way is gonna recognize something isn't there. Hope it's clear what I mean.

- Rygrath - 2010-12-16

Yep, just to confirm fanart.jpg is in the season folder
i.e. "X:Series/Fringe/Season 1/fanart.jpg".

Ember stores them there for me when scraping a show and displaying correctly in File and Fanart views for seasons.

Again, thanks for adding that feature.

Edit: To add, the Show's fanart resides in the show's root folder.
i.e. "X:Series/Fringe/fanart.jpg"

Each Season folder has it's own fanart.jpg

- KiSUAN - 2010-12-16

Ok, what I have at freaking Series root are the posters, damn this feaking tbn files, I had to open them to see what they really were, sry.

- Rygrath - 2010-12-16

Heh, no worries. Those .tbn files drive me batty at times too. And so you know, just updated Purity and it's working just fine Smile

Each Season folder has it's own fanart.jpg

While on the subject of Season Fanart whats a good little write-up for the setting:

User need episodes organized by season folders and a fanart.jpg in each folder

I'm loving the new 16x9 view. It is now my default for TV show episodes. Would you be willing to have the fanart appear in the background in episode view? Something like this picture, which I think looks really nice:

hi mcborzu, when pausing a TV show, would it be possible to have the episode title above the current/end time in the OSD? there is definitely space, and it would be cool if it wasnt changing back and forth between the two, just showing both at the same time.
