Jimmeh Wrote:If you create a file called advancedsettings.xml and drop it in your userdata folder it will cause xbmc to create dds files for your entire cache.

The contents of the file should be as follows;

Code:
<advancedsettings>
  <useddsfanart>true</useddsfanart>
</advancedsettings>

Now when you restart xbmc, any image you pause on will have a dds created. However be aware it will take a while to create a cache for each image, and also that a dds file is many times larger than its parent jpg or tbn.

I'm using this method on my atom and it makes a big difference when browsing library items with 1080 fanart.

I guess you didn't read the posts... I am using useddsfanart and I have stated numerous times that it does increase the browsing speed a whole lot. The problem is that it does not create a dds version of the backgrounds used by the skin. That's why the lag appears when browsing over the ".." and not when browsing among the regular movies. Read the posts before you answer, and you will save yourself a lot of time. Smile

@Kalliban - Jimmeh's post may be useful for others too.... It's all good info. Big Grin

I posted quickly on my lunch break with some information I had learned which didn't seem to be well publicised.

I am so sorry for trying to help with your issue without reading your entire post history. I am clearly a terrible person. May I be struck down by the lord of the interwebs, Raptor Jesus, for my grievous crimes.

Possible new view....real basic, no frills.

Thanks - I'm still working on that small list view but not sure exactly what I want in the end... Next in line is to revisit the covers in the Music Visualizations and get rid of the jewel cases.

I'm open to other view ideas as well.

Haha Big Grin Sorry for the cranky post before, I'm glad you could take it with a sense of humor Nod

Hi stoli. Slim view is... clean. Refreshing.
Pressing space while watching the movie give us pause screen. Nice one. I'm wondering, if other users agree, why we need info on the production house right after year of release. The only info about the movie I need when pausing the movie is the year of release and the name of the director., not the name of the company...
but, thats only me...
stoli?

- stoli - 2010-12-12

I thought I had removed that from the info screen... Will double check and eradicate. :-)

First off lett me tell you I love this skin. It seems very solid.

I have two questions and a request though.

1. Profiles
Is it not possible to switch between profiles or am I doing something wrong? I get the shutdown/restart menu when I try to exit but no switch profile alternative. I need this because I switch between my profile and my kids profile.

2. Update
Does this skin auto update? I installed it through Passion Repo.

2. Request - Movie info
I wish that some more of the movie views had the alternative of showing movie info. I want BOTH the big fanart picture in the background and movie info (plot etc, etc). How awesome would it be if you could manually select where to place what info on for instance movie screen?. I guess that that is very difficult to do.

Other than this I think this theme is really awesome skin and thanks alot.

Thank you!

I haven't worked with the profiles at all, but it should not be hard to get going at all.

I don't think Passion does auto-updating, but it sure would be nice. I have a suspicion this is a code issue and not a repo one though.

This will be coming to the slim view - after pausing on a particular movie for x seconds, the plot and other info would appear in the lower center section of the screen. I'll give that a go this week and see how it looks.

Thanks again,

Awesome, really looking forward to this Smile

So where would you suggest I do my updating from then? I guess it will be install from .zip file right? But what webside do you release it to?

Also I wonder if anybody has found working RSS sites for sportsresults. That "ESPN" bar you made really makes an extra depth to the skin.

I would love theese RSS feeds if they exist:

Results for:

1- Premier League
2. MLB
3. NFL
4. NBA

The passion repo is updated nightly; so any updates I may do today, they will be on the repo tomorrow; I'm just not sure if it does the auto-updates like the official repo does.

Also, the zip link on the fist page is direct to the Git repo. If I were to push an update right now, that zip would be current.
