That's where <visible>Container.Content(tvshows)</visible>

You would want that to be <visible>Container.Content(tvshows) | Container.Content(movies)</visible>

There will be other locations it has to go as well, and you would be substituting the section that used "Listitem.Icon" with the logo.png entry. If I has some time this weekend I'll look into it more.

thanx any help would be appreciated, i tried adding content movies in fanart but all it seemed to do was remove panel view from movies section

just an add on here - ive been looking at the showcase view which might do the job if i can replace the movie poster or titletreatment and resize the case overlays to something smaller and wider, that might be easier.

- stoli - 2011-02-04

If you are using logos, I'd remove all overlays anyway...

Apologies, should have made it clear...I was adding it as a submenu underneath TV Shows.

stoli Wrote:Last try - add your documentaries to thetvdb.com, name your files correctly and scrape and skip the whole nfo idea. That's the best of all worlds. You shows will be where they should be and anyone else that adds the shows to their library will benefit by your contribution to thetvdb.com

Anything more on this, let's take it to your original thread: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=90850

Thanks for your continued help, and sorry for going so off-topic. However, you've made me reevaluate my approach and I've come up with an alternative that doesn't ruin my sources and is stupidly simple. I'm going to post it back in my original thread. But thanks for humouring me, at least. It's appreciated.

As for the adding to tvdb, it wasn't really practical for everything I have in that folder, some things are recordings of CNN news broadcasts and similar.

Back on topic though of this amazing skin, 2 things I feel I should give feedback on having used it for a while now, and in return for all the help you've given me. Firstly, adding a new rule using the smart-playlist editor is difficult in it's current colour scheme. The white text blends into the metallic background too easily, especially at 6'+ viewing distance on a TV. Also, when the highlight moves over the rules section it doesn't appear. The rules in the screenshot below are highlight as an example. The second picture shows the outcome of pressing down once, and the highlight is clearly visible.

This difficulty to read the white text carries across in the rule editor, where at a distance the text disappears back into the background again.

Using the addon "TV-Shows Next Aired" from the Passion repo together with the 16x9 skin view seems to cut some of the text off from the newly included information. I don't know how much you can do about that, I just thought I would make you aware as it's the least I can do after your help. I would get a pic of this too, but it seems my Windows testbed compilation of XBMC's git doesn't seem to have the urllib module needed to run the addon and taking a screenshot from my Ubuntu machine will be a bit hard without a keyboard Huh

Seriously, thanks for such a great skin, and for all your assistance whilst I was being an idiot and making life hard for everyone Blush

Re: smartplaylist. Whoops. Somehow that dialog is all screwed up. There should not be any of those light backgrounds left in the skin. Big oversight.

As for the 16x9 view - I'll get that fixed. Good thing you mentioned that view as it was on my shortlist to be removed.

- IAmNotAUser - 2011-02-04

Glad some good came out of me being a complete idiot then. Look forward to seeing what you do with it to make it easier to read, I don't doubt it'll be a good-looking fix.

Wow, can't believe you considered ditching it. It's definitely my personal favourite, and the other half seems to approve too. If it wasn't for that, I would probably have to use Poster. Tongue

Good Progress! You're going to have a hard time with the texture - I'd suggest changing the movie titles that are black to something - gray or white may work best - or try a grey texture as I doubt you will encounter too many titles in grey.

As for sliding up, look for a effect="slide" animation on the y axis.

- sokar666 - 2011-02-04

yeh all ready thought of the texture and actually figured the slide motion lol. im almost done a few tweaks here and there, quite pleased with it actually.

i changed the texture overlay to a grey and just made aby titles that were black a little lighter.

ill upload a screenshot shortly, see what you think

- stoli - 2011-02-04

@Sokar - you build it, I'll add it. Then we just need someone with nothing better to do that create thousands of titles. Smile

- sokar666 - 2011-02-04

lol, that should be fun

1 question - which overlay did you use for the bottom of the tv fanart view as the one im using doesnt seem to look as good

- stoli - 2011-02-04

it's two actually -

media/home_bottom_backthin.png
menu/home_bottom_align.png

The first file is what I use a <colordiffuse> on to change the color, the second is the dark grey/black. You cold also apply some transparency to it so the logos stand out a little more.

- supertom44 - 2011-02-04

I think that looks pretty cool, where do you get the movie logos from?

Might be worth creating a fallback image as well as not all movies are going to have logos available.

- sokar666 - 2011-02-04

the only ones im really having trouble with are the more obscure films but with a little time and practice im pretty sure i can make them myself once i figure the neccessary fonts
