My bad. I thought that random themes played as you browsed. Didn't realize it played in the selected tv show. Sorry.

- dsim - 2010-10-27

@rONniE, that with lyrics and music info in keymap you said, works great.

i would also like to have a key to change between the different kind of visualization. slideshow, fanart...

can you tell me how i can do that?

- mwkurt - 2010-10-27

Ronie,

Would like to try out the svn version of your skin to get the new features and debug for you but I do not know how to download the whole thing. What do I need to do to get this on my pc and into XBMC? Do I need to download each folder and install seperately or do I use some sort of a program to download and install at one time? I am using Windows 7 32 bit.

Thanks,
Mark

After looking around some, I guess I need to download something like TortoiseSVN, and then enter the url and save the files to somewhere on my pc to then move them to the addons folder in XBMC? Is this pretty close?

this is not as difficult as it seems to be.

1. download the tortoise svn > instal (you don't need to setting something)
2. make a folder where you want to download the transparency.
3. go inside this folder and - right click on mouse - say update or download...dont sure now for the first time.
4. give the svn adress from the first post in the field of tortoise and download -> thats it.
5. copy/paste the transparency folder to the addons foolder of xbmc.

if you want to update transparency - go again into this folder and right click and say update. you will be able to see, which files are updated.

you can make the update directly in addons folder or you make it in the other folder, its on your own, how do you handle it.

i hope you understand now, if not, please feel free to ask again. Wink

i have a folder where i make the updates. a

no guarantees it'll work, but give this one a shot

1. this doesn't work, what is your command to switch between fanart slide show and visualization?

2. i have noticed, that the fanart slideshow also works in artist view and album view, not only on visualization. to work on artist view and album view, i have to add the extrafanart folder before the album folder.

this works in all views, only not on homescreen.
Artist
->Extrafanrt (folder)
->folder.jpg
->album1
->album2
..

if two or many cd's

this works in all views, only not on homescreen.
in this case i have to add extrafanart folder also in album inside
Artist
->Extrafanrt (folder)
->folder.jpg
->album
---->CD1
---->CD2
---->Extrafanrt (folder) (if not here, then not showing in visualzation)

will it be fixed to have only one extrafanrt folder, or should i add for albums with 2 cd's two extrafanrt folder?

but anyway, thats great, because it works not only on visualization, it works also in artist view and album view...unbelieveable! Smile

i use multiple commands, so guess that's not possible to add to your keymap. you can look up the "990" buttons at the bottom of MusicOSD.xml
to see what they are.

Artist
->Extrafanrt (folder)
->folder.jpg
->album1
->album2
..

this is the correct way.

that shouldn't be needed, though i'm not sure what you mean.
there is no artist slideshow on the homescreen at all in Transparency!

please provide some more details and i'll look into it. :-)

- dsim - 2010-10-29

Ok, thanks. I look for 990 buttons.

I know that there is no fanart slideshow on homescreen, thats ok.

What I mean: If you have an album with 2 discs inside, as the second example above. Then the fanart slideshow shows only on artist view and album view and not in visualization. So I have to add the extrafanart folder inside the album too, in order to get the fanart slideshow in visualization.

I have no problem in putting extrafanart folders in albums which have 2 or more cds, but if you are going to fix this, then I'll wait and will not put the extrafanart folders in the album folders too.

sorry for my bad english, but i hope you know what i mean.

- ronie - 2010-10-29

i get it...
since xbmc does not natively support extra-fanart, us skinners implement all kind of 'hacks' to use it anyway.

since they are 'hacks' or 'workarounds', they're never perfect and will fail in some cases.

they slideshow in the visualisation will indeed only work with a
Music/Artist/Album/Songs folderstructure.

to make it work for you, there are several options,

1) remove the cd1 and cd2 folders and put all files in the album folder:
Artist
->Extrafanrt (folder)
->folder.jpg
->album
---->101 - Song.mp3
---->102 - Song.mp3
---->....
---->201 - Song.mp3
---->....
(that's what i'm using)

2) as you already mentioned, copy the extra fanart folder to the cd1 and cd2 folders

3) Add another hack yourself in Includes_Workarounds.xml

change:
Code:
    <include name="fanartslideshow-musicvisualisation">
        <control type="multiimage">
            <description>dirty hack for showing fanart slideshow instead of visualisation</description>
            <posx>0</posx>
            <posy>0</posy>
            <width>1280</width>
            <height>720</height>
            <imagepath background="true">$INFO[Player.FolderPath,,../extrafanart/]</imagepath>
            <aspectratio>scale</aspectratio>
            <timeperimage>5000</timeperimage>
            <randomize>true</randomize>
            <fadetime>750</fadetime>
            <include condition="!Skin.HasSetting(FanartSlideshowAnimation)">backgroundanimation2</include>
            <include>VisibleFadeEffect</include>
            <visible>Player.HasAudio + Skin.HasSetting(FanartSlideshowNoVisualisation) + ![substring(Player.FolderPath,pvr://) | substring(Player.FolderPath,http://) | substring(Player.FolderPath,https://) | substring(Player.FolderPath,htsp://)]</visible>
        </control>
    </include>

to:

your great, great support, thanks!

i tried 3. option and it works really great. maybe you can add this workaround to the svn for others...

1. because you are a genious of workarounds, it is possible to take the folder "*all albums" in albumviews to the and of the lists or show in other way?

2. i realized that, if i listening to music in visualization, and i would see the list of songs, i have to switch back. wouldn't be great to have a option as music-info, to show a list of current album songs, where you can choose the song you want to listen to?

cheers nad thanks again for your great help, i really appreciate your work.

i'll think about it.

dsim Wrote:1. because you are a genious of workarounds, it is possible to take the folder "*all albums" in albumviews to the and of the lists or show in other way?

you can set those options in advancedsettings.xml
Quote:<hideallitems>true</hideallitems> <!-- removes the "*All" items from the music library -->
<allitemsonbottom>true</allitemsonbottom> <!-- sorts the "*All" items at the bottom of the list when in Ascending order -->

that's not possible in xbmc.

initial touchscreen support added.
Settings > Skin Settings > Enable touchscreen mode

for now, only the 'Home' and 'Back' buttons on all windows.

'Close' buttons on dialogs will be next. :-)

please test and report all issues!

edit:
added 'Close' buttons as well.

- ronie - 2010-11-02

added kiosk mode to the svn version of T!

Skin Settings > Enable kiosk mode.

kiosk mode disables the left menu in Videos, Music, Programs, Pictures, etc...

if anything else should be disabled, let me know.

ronie, I don´t know if when you left the 50 year mark behind you some things get to complicated like operating a VCR, but I can not make heads or tails out of this instruction.

ronie Wrote:general info:
the development version of Transparency! is available @ the T! SVN
in order to download it, you'll need special svn software.

- if you prefer a command-line client: svn checkout http://transparency-xbmc.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ skin.transparency
- or if you use a gui based client, like TortoiseSVN use this url: http://transparency-xbmc.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/

how do I update?
I am at the trunk and I could download it file by file at: http://transparency-xbmc.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/720p/
but I think there is a better way?
"in order to download it, you'll need special svn software."
where do I get that?

detailed instructions are a few posts up this thread:
http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=634074&postcount=19

the software you need:
http://tortoisesvn.tigris.org/

i know my instructions may seem a bit limited,
but i don't consider it my job to teach anyone how to use svn or how to operate a vcr for that matter ;-)
