I was already halfway there. Yes, this is all 'i' key OSD stuff. I haven't figured out what I want to do with the 'm' key stuff. Maybe an old 8 track player for the play, ff, rew?
The steam gauge may be broken. I've got a guy who could fix it, but it would be expensive. :/

This will probably be too cheesy looking, but what about doing a folded paper corner and revealing the player controls underneath the "page" of the playing video...? Change of pace from adding layers on top.
Also, "end time" is one of my favorite things in any OSD, but it's not as helpful without "time right now" somewhere, I find (currently missing this in Fusion).

I think maybe the player controls should appear from behind the movie title on the bottom of the screen instead. That would make it so it doesn't take up so much space at the top corner.

That's for sure on the table. I just need to find and actual clock image that fits in as well. I'll work on it. I agree current time probably needs to be incorporated.
Also, remember that the vast majority of the time there elements won't be on the screen at the same time. Im just doing them on the screen for mock up purposes.
Honestly, the top 'm' screen I really only ever use to quickly access subtitles and maybe occasionally audio options.

Apparently not.
anime is about he only thing i ever use subtitles for and most of mine came with them. Just nothing I've ever investigated i suppose. Anything need to me done on a skin level to support it?

no worries, just put a button for it on the OSD somewhere and i'll handle the rest. ;-)
same for the Music OSD, many users will want a lyrics button there.
