T! release 3.11.1 buttons - dondre - 2010-12-07

ronie,

I was wondering if you could eventualy consider changing the "shutdown menu" buttons, I remember in some older versions there were looking way better,

Let me put it that way, I find that your new mediaflags buttons are looking astonishing and impressive and are going very well with the T! concept and integration

Highlighted here in yellow;

Perhaps there's a way to use the same style for the "shutdown menu" buttons which aren't exactly looking the same and/or integrating well IMHO

Example;

I find that the actual blue gradient on the buttons aren't really looking good Huh

Thanks a lot, and I know you are very busy on many things (for instance the super ultra sexy new Paper Soap Company skin) so if you may point me out what to change or how I may help for that purpose (I do have the SVN sources). Thanks a million!

I agree. Older version of shutdown buttons are very nice.

dondre Wrote:I find that the actual blue gradient on the buttons aren't really looking good Huh

it's the same style as used on the player controls, keyboard, numpad...so i guess they do match the rest of the skin.

dondre Wrote:if you may point me out what to change or how I may help for that purpose

depends on what you'd like to change...
you could create a new set from scratch...modify the current ones,
create a mockup of how you think they would look better.

since you mentioned the mediaflags, have a look at the play/stop/next/etc.. buttons on the music and video osd.
maybe something like that would work for the shutdown buttons?

Yes ronie, this is _exactly_ what I meant, the play/stop/next/etc... buttons on the music and video OSD are looking perfect and if we could use exactly the same style with plain white icons and the black glossy transparent square border it would look fantastic I believe and BTW you are completely right I believe that if we could use the exact same play/stop/next/etc... buttons on the music and video OSD as well for the player controls, keyboard, numpad... it should look slightly more "pro" don't you think?

Perhaps other ppl could give their opinion about it but really, the control buttons on the OSD are looking GREAT, simple, efficient, readable and integrate in a brilliant way with the Transparency! concept I believe :-)

This is how they are in the greyTheme

Thanks jpf55, I've already installed your color scheme and gave it a try and I appreciate it Smile

Perhaps to stick even better to Transparency! concept which basicaly is... transparency we could somehow use ronie's button style (the ones that are transparent used for mediaflags and OSD controls) and just keep a flat white icon in those buttons instead of using any shadowing or anything that would create relief... where for the hover effect the actual existing one from ronie for th mediaflags/osd menu could apply very well (blue halo on hovering)... What do you think? Hope you get what I try to badly say Smile

- PatK - 2010-12-08

Wonder if something like this would do.. I'll probably make a set for myself.. second image has a slightly darker border...

- PatK - 2010-12-08

Well here's my collection for those that want it.. basically transparent. I don't know what all the 'rings are for...' so if anyone notices something amiss.. let me know and I'll endeavour to fixem up. The buttons have an orange glow on rollover as seen in the image and of course this is only for those using the beta version of Transparency!

- PatK - 2010-12-09

I made a few changes.... they look colourful.. but only the grey buttons show... all the rest are rollovers and are seen only briefly.

I'm probably going to tone down the colour substantially... in the next few days, so if these interest you, snap them up... the next set on the face will not change much, but the roll-over will be led style, either green/yellow or blue/cool, sorry for the snake button.... couldn't help myself Smile

- dondre - 2010-12-09

Hey PatK thanks for your efforts, unfortunately I am at work and the proxy is blocking your uploaded images so perhaps if you're around here maybe could you send it by mail to me at [email protected] so I already may have a look otherwise I'll just wait for this evening to give it a try at home :-)

But I just can't wait to see a blue/cool LED style effect for the hover effect :-) Would look nice I'm sure!

Ronie perhaps you may share the PSD of your mediaflags or OSD buttons so we can use it to create buttons for the shutdown menu?

Thanks :-)

Green~ OSD buttons for SVN Transparency! - PatK - 2010-12-09

This archive contains the .png files and .psd (note some buttons are in one .PSD and stacked... you just have to turn them on in photoshop). These are only one set of the OSD, the player still has to be done. I tried to be a little less bright and more subtle, these should go along with any theme in the future as the transparency is protected. Here's what they look like.

Here's the high light set

- dondre - 2010-12-09

Hi again mate,

I really do like your high light set (with the yellow glow), it gives a really nice impression of real interactive buttons that will lighten up when pressed/selected like a real hight tech object!

Correct me if I'm wrong since I haven't tried it them myself in live, are those transparent? (if a background would be applied on the picture it would answer the question ^^)

Smooth work and I'm probably wrong to say so but I'd bet that ronie would like the idea great too Smile

- dondre - 2010-12-09

Or trying with a blue version with the same actual blue highlight color (on the osd) would do it to stick better to T! color chart? Just wondering Smile

Cheers mate great work again!
