Searched and couldn't find anything on this...

I just installed XBMC Flicks and accidentally set it up on the wrong Netflix account (my friend had been borrowing my laptop and I blindly hit Yes to authorize access on her account instead of mine). How can I clear the add-on's association with her account so I can log in to mine? I tried uninstalling the add-on but it didn't seem to clear anything.

OK so after some fiddling to get logged in and netflix to load in XBMC I can say that 'some' things work!!!!

all instant items are blank - no error
"recommended" list pulls 41 items but a random try of 6 of them brought me to the player and then it said that the show is not avail.
"top 25" list pulls shows - all of which I have never heard of but they seem to play!
"all new arrivals" pulls 344 items and they randomly seem to work as well!
"Search" pulls items and they seem to play. although I would say that the results seem possibly limited.. may be just me tho.

I think it is pulling some info from netflix.com but we can only play what is avail for netflix.ca --> this same sort of thing happens when I search for items using my Wii (ie: Cars movie can be found in search but shows as unavail if play is attempted)

Also that is all the headings avail. no TV or Movie separation.

Nice to see that somethings are working tho!! Yay! the end of my cable tv subscription is in sight!

I've uploaded 1.0.11 - adds support for netflix.ca .. I can't directly test it, but from everything i can find, it should work as it appends the country as one of the parameters to the disc and instant queue in the netflix.py script, a user setting is called that will add the param if they set the option that they are in Canada.

I'm not sure why, but the release thread was locked so I'll just add updates on what's been changed here

I tried this updated version for Netflix Canada... streaming works! Thanks alot for your hard work. Few strange things I noticed... when in the app the only options I can select is "Instant Queue: All", "Instant Queue: Movies", "Instant Queue: TV", "Recommended", and "Search".

Is there no way to browse movies, tv by categories? Also I'm finding strange results with search... movies that are available via web-browser don't show up when searched via the plugin, even when name is typed properly in search. Anyways, just a few observations. Again, thanks for your work.

P.S. - The Movie and TV queues appear to be pointless for this plugin because Netflix Canada (for some reason) decided not to enabled the feature to queue anything.

I turned off the menu items that come from the RSS feeds as those are not filtered for netflix.ca items as they are just a feed of new US data. (that's the new and top 25 new in instant watch, and genre based items in the Disc menu.)

Set up question - poutine - 2011-01-05

Hi - glad to have found this plugin. Thanks for the hard work!

Feel like an idiot, since I'm having problems configuring the plugin. I read through the thread here, and have tried most things. I'm hoping it's something obvious someone here can point me to... I suspect that it's not finding the right playercorefactory.xml. Both it and the advancedsettings.xml are in the <username>\Application Data\XBMC\userdata directory (winxp 32bit). The current behavior I'm experiencing is that the browser does pop up for the authentication from netflix, but it pops up in firefox (my default browser). Log:

The initial auth will be done in whatever browser your system is set to (for Windows).. that should be fine

I am not seeing any errors in that log, please turn on debug mode for the addon (it's in the addon settings) and attempt to view your instant queue.

Turned on debugging in the add-on. Is it supposed to write entries to the xbmc.log, or to another file? I don't see any additional log entries, or an additional log file...

Also, as clarification: I launch the plugin, click through to view my instant queue. Firefox launches (and if it matters, I select my profile), I authorize xbmcflicks, click go to netflix, then close firefox. Delete the userinfo.txt file (that's where auth info is stored)
Then please try setting IE as your default browser and see if it works that way. Also, please ensure the addon version your running is 1.0.11 or higher, if it's not please update the addon's.
Actually - grab the git version which has more auth info output -- https://github.com/spudsdude/XBMC-Flicks/zipball/master
open that zip file, extract the contents into the xbmcflicks plugin folder

In the xbmc.log you'll find a string that reads
Notice: Token result was: BLABLALLA
Notice: If the timestamp shows invalid, your computers date/time is off, sync it to an NTP server or fix it by setting the correct values

remove the string "Token result was: BLABLALLA" (the BLABLALLA part will be your user data or an error, leave it if it's an error)

There might be something with the profiles that's messing it up, or no-script or something similar in firefox.

Initially tried just setting IE to default. Same result - IE called to authorize the plugin, click authorize, continue to netflix, close IE. CNTRL-TAB back to XBMC, hangs on the loading directory dialogue.
Then tried the zip file above, and got a script error when clicking on my instant queue (IE never launches)

Initially tried just setting IE to default. Same result - IE called to authorize the plugin, click authorize, continue to netflix, close IE. CNTRL-TAB back to XBMC, hangs on the loading directory dialogue.
Then tried the zip file above, and got a script error when clicking on my instant queue (IE never launches)

These items don't appear in the log, either before I updated the plugin (log the same as my original post), and after updating the plugin (perhaps the errors below happen before that...). Log after updating the plugin from your zip file:

download the zip file again and overwrite the xbmcflicks plugin, i was missing some code in there.. the good part is you won't have to delete the text strings anymore as I changed how those are done.
i.e. download, extract, overwrite files, give it a try again, paste log file

Netflix Commands - loki131 - 2011-01-05

First off amazing app! I absolutely love it! Big Grin

Now I thought I would share some of the info I've found. Currently I have AutoHotKey re-map my remote when Netflix launches so I have play/pause, stop, etc. all working seamlessly and my direct access keys to bring me back in to xbmc (whatever section I want). I'm new to AutoHotKey so I haven't quite figured out how to automatically kick into fullscreen but hopefully tonight I will solve that one!

Anyway here are the Netflix/Silverlight keyboard commands I've found so far so you guys can map them however you want.

Netflix controls

Space – Toggle Play/Pause
Enter – Toggle Play/Pause
PgUp – Play
PgDn – Pause
F – Full-screen
Esc – Exit full-screen
Shift+Left arrow – Rewind
Shift+Right arrow – Fast Forward

In full-screen mode:

Ctrl+space – Frame forward/backward mode. Ctrl+space pauses the movie and enters key frame mode (aka intra-frame or i-frame mode). The right and left arrow keys move between key frames.

The following Ctrl+Shift+Alt+* shortcuts (Ctrl+Shift+Option+* in Mac OS X) toggle information displays on/off when the player is NOT in full-screen mode. The displays will remain on, however, when full-screen mode is activated.

Ctrl+Shift+Alt+M – Menu
Ctrl+Shift+Alt+C – Codes; frame rate plus other (unknown to me) info. Also makes other overlays green.
Ctrl+Shift+Alt+D – Display A/V Stats on-screen
Ctrl+Shift+Alt+L - Logging window
Ctrl+Shift+Alt+P – Player Info
Ctrl+Shift+Alt+S – Stream bit rate and manual rate selection

so in xbmc, you just get the loading directory, and don't see a dialog that prompts you to click OK after you have auth'd it in your browser?
