qumip

Thanks for the file. I copied the file over my old old one at:

C:\Users\My User\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons\plugin.video.xbmcflicks\resources\lib

restarted XBMC. I did a search for "iron man" as a test. I got many results, some of which are spiderman cartoon series which are not available in canada? Is this file supposed to fix the catalogue where I get US listing?

ON another note, to quit from playing a movie I have to press ALT-F4 to close, is there a better way to close and go back to xbmc?

Thanks.

Does anybody know if Hulu has the same amount of HD (and other streams) available on the PC as they do the PS3/360?

ssss25:

Re search results - this file does not fix the mixing of US/Canada results. Apparently it is an issue on the Netflix side. In my experience Experimental Search gives better results.

Re: Alt-F4 - unfortunately there is no alternative.

- ssss25 - 2011-02-16

ah.. Thx for the clarification!

On a PC, I can do ALT-F4! But what can I do on AppleTV2 Smile Planning to get that for XBMC shortly.

Hope we can get a good stable Netflix Plugin for XBMC in the future that is well integrated and works in Canada.

Any chance xbmcflicks will support full playback of the instant queue on ATV2? Not just queue management. Native ATV2 Netflix player complete garbage. Always stuttering and goes out of synch.

- hindude07 - 2011-02-18

I am running the latest version of xbmc on mac osx 10.6.6. I keep getting an error
"script failed!: plugin.video.xbmcflicks"

- jmerkow - 2011-02-19

How do you get the meta-data to show up?

Also is it just supposed to switch to fullscreen IE? then you have to quit to get back to XBMC

- jmerkow - 2011-02-20

These don't work for me.

What keys do what --
Key's that function when it's playing
space OR enter = pause/play
ctrl+alt+shift+left arrow OR just F = full screen
esc = exit full screen
ctrl+spacebar = put it's into frame mode to allow ffwd and rwd using arrow keys
shift + left arrow = rwd
shift + right arrow = ffwd
ctrl+alt+shift+m = menu
alt+f4 = shutdown web page (forcefully)

- Ecrofirt - 2011-02-23

OK, so I'm having a problem with XBMC flicks, and every Google search I've done brings me right back to this thread.

I am running Windows Server 2008 R2.

I downloaded and installed this add-on, and when I go to Videos->Add-Ons, and select XBMC Flicks, I am never shows an IE window, or prompted for my Netflix username/password. If I attempt to open my Instant Queue, it gives me a script error, and kicks me out.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

join the club. never been able to figure out how to make them work either. only command in that list that works for me is alt+f4

...someday

Hi Fekker,

Any luck with troubleshooting the XP issues? I can help test and do the leg work for you if that helps. Just let me know what you need. I rebuilt my entire machine from the ground up and stripped out everything. Its now strictly XP SP3, XBMC and NETFLICKS plugin. I still get the same behavior. When I run the addon the first time it hangs. I got my keys from the log file and inserted them in the .py file and now I get a script error. Pretty much the same behavior as before, but at least I eliminated any software external to XBMC with the rebuild.

Thanks again for your continued help and hard work

- fekker - 2011-03-01

I'm working on getting some pc issues sorted out at the moment, few more days

I'll update with the netflix.ca items (with the code posted from other users) and look back into the xp issue. Worst case, I'll just write a quick .net auth app that will generate the user info for those where that fails. I'm also going to see if i can get the dvd queue items working under appletv 2 (to add / remove items from the disc queue)

When auth fails, it's usually one of the following:
- date/time not being sync'd to a time server, it's got to be within 1 minute of the netflix server's time.
- Permissions

Your work on this plugin is greatly appreciated!

Is there any possibility of getting a browser wrapper for OS X? The lack of the wrapper in OS X is preventing my full switch to XBMC... asking my wife to screen share in and maximize the browser, etc, is too much. In Plex, Netflix plays like it is a seamless addition.

Are you taking donations? Maybe some OS X users could encourage this to be a priority?

Alternatively, I'm a web developer; I could get my head around the necessary issues and possibly do it myself if you maybe outlined some steps on how it would work.

- MitchStar - 2011-03-06

I haven't been able to get this to work yet and have been trying for days. I am running the latest version of XBMC on Mac OS X 10.6.6. Fekker, could you please take a look at my log and tell me what you think?

I took out the top of the log for the sake of space. Everything looks normal up there from what I can tell.

I had XBMC 10.0 (dec 17th) stable on Mac Mini Snow Leopard.
It worked fine.

It's been a couple months, and I tried to use the XBMC Flicks (Netflix) plugin.
Currently it doesn't work properly.

When you click to play a video in Netflix, it opens a Safari window. The video plays in the window (not full screen) and the remote doesn't work on the window. You have to manually close the safari window with a mouse or you get the "multiple play" error.

I downloaded http://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/xbmc/nightlies/osx/xbmc-ff701de-master-x86.dmg
March 6th copy of nightly build and it has the same problem.
I have the 1.0.15 version of XBMC Flicks.

Does anyone else have this issue?
I'm fully patched on the Snow Leopard OS including iTunes and Silverlight.

Edit: If the log file is useful, I've put it here here
FYI I killed (kill -9) the Safari window during this, so there may be odd things in the log related to the killed process.
