I really like this plugin, the automate script is fantastic to control led. Did some one ever no if we could extend the automate script, like send command when go to the music, send command when go to movie etc....
Thanks in advance

I'm wondering what the best way to play local trailers is? At this stage all of my trailers for downloaded movies are in smb://server/movies/movie-name/movie-name-trailer.ext, is there a way to recursively scan the movies folder to play trailers for downloaded movie?

Also is there a way to set up 2 types of trailers; that is, coming attractions type trailers (trailers for new movies, either streamed from apple or downloaded to a local folder) and downloaded movies type trailers (trailers for movies that I already have).

It's great to see trailers for up and coming movies, but I would also love to be able to see trailers from my existing collection as I have so many movies that I haven't yet watched.

If you use the XBMC Library Scraper you should have no problem scraping the movie trailers.

Not in the foreseeable future. It would not be impossible to mix any of he scrapers, but there is a problem within XBMC when putting Streamed Videos after local Videos in a playlist(it likes to crash)

Are you asking if it can be extended beyond Cinema Experience(always running?) or just more in Cinema Experience?

Something similar could be made to follow window id changes, but not within the home_automation.py script for Cinema Experience.

HD Theater Policy Trailers, THX & DD Trailers - Mike K - 2011-09-12

I'm a long time Meedios user, converted to XBMC this weekend. Huge difference, mostly in how much of the work is automated and runs right the first time. I especially like the Cinema Experience plug in, something I’ve tried for years to do in Meedios (with some success, but not nearly as detailed).

Getting the Cinema Experience add-on to show up was a little confusing. You start with this zip file:

http://xbmc-addons.googlecode.com/sv...bmc-addons.zip

Save the zip somewhere convenient. (This is not the Cinema Experience Add-On...It's a file that creates a new Add-On directory) Then in XBMC, under Add Ons, select the option to Add From Zip. Point it to the zip file. This will add a new Add-On directory. Then select that new directory and look for Program Add Ons, and you'll see "Cinema Experience".

I downloaded the 800+ MB compilated file on page one of the thread to get started with the correct folder structure and get some free goodies:

http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=69270

I also found (and recommend) the replacement script for Redux that adds the “Cinema” button to the Movie Information page, rather than trying to edit the existing XML file.. I suggest doing a simple search on your PC for "DialogVideoInfo.xml" and locating the one that's in the redux directory. I wasted some time editing the wrong one. That was pretty much it as far as configuration:

Quote:Anyway - here's how to set it up in Media Stream Redux:

1. In Windows 7, open up Windows Explorer and go to:

%appdata%\xbmc\addons\skin.mediastream_redux\720p

2. Rename the DialogVideoInfo.xml to old_DialogVideoInfo.xml, so you can replace it if you don't like Cinema Experience at a later junction.

3. Download this new video info xml in its place. Make sure to rename it from DialogVideoInfo.txt to DialogVideoInfo.xml (I couldn't upload it as xml for some reason).

This will result in the Cinema button appearing at the right after right-clicking on a Movie and choosing "Movie Information". I find on some movies that the button is out of sight, but rotates into view by clicking all the way to the right.

*A HUGE THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO PUT THIS TOGETHER*

On to the fun part. I noticed that the Theater Intro videos were pretty low def. They’re kind of campy and fun, bit I went hunting for some HD source material. My first find was an HD version of Regal Cinemas’ popular “Roller Coaster” policy trailer. There are two versions out there. One is taken from the old analog film version. The update is a digital reproduction with some cool additions. I also found a lot of THX and Dolby Digital stuff.

Here’s a link to get started::

http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=hd+theater+policy+trailers&aq=f

Once you find your clip, it needs to be converted to a movie file and placed into the appropriate folder. I use Zamzar, a free online conversion service.

http://www.zamzar.com/url/

Just copy and paste the YouTube URL of the video you like, select your format (MOV seems to work well) and enter your email address. Then check your email in a couple of minutes for a link to the download file. Place the downloaded file in the appropriate folder on your system and that’s it. Here are some URLs of cool stuff I found:

HD Regal Roller Coaster (Digital Version 1080p):

HD Dolby Digital Trailer (720p):

THX Classic "Cavalcade" Trailer (1080p):

Great plugin!
I have 2 questions:
1. Is there a way to skip the trailer without disabling the feature every time I do not want trails?
2. What would be the best way to integrate my favourite set of THX trailers that should be played every time just before the feature?

Is there any other site or perhaps a programme that one can easily make an intro like how you can with vipid?

I can not get the script to work with FTP or Samba (SMB) shares. It works fine if I move the files directly to my ATV2's small internal flash drive and reset up the paths. But anything I put on there plays like crap. Anyone got this working with FTP or Samba paths?

A full debug log would help figure out the problem. As I don't have an atv2 myself, I can't test.

ice library compatibility - deejay360 - 2011-09-20

first off, i just want to say great addon! me and my girlfriend use it to watch trailers for new films we might be interested in before a film starts. Now onto my question, is it possible to make it so that this works with the new ice library addon? If you are unfamiliar with the addon, it allows you to get links from icefilms and add them to your movie and tv show libraries for easy and quick access. However, if you use ice library and dont have a megaupload account you have to wait 25-45 seconds for the movie/tvshow to start and i thought it would be cool to be able to play an intro, slideshow etc whilst the countdown is in the background so by the time the intro videos finish, th countdown will have finished and the movie/tvshow will start playing. im not sure if this is possible as ice library only adds links to .strm files to your library and not actual video files but thought i would throw the idea out there anyway. thanks again for this great plugin.

...Think I solved my problem, will have to wait and try at home Smile

Are the video files on Page 1 available anywhere else besides MegaUpload?

I believe darkscout has them on an ftp server that he posted links to on this thread, just search this thread for the user 'darkscout'

Not sure it's working the way it should? - Hardax - 2011-09-22

My apologies if this has been touched on but I did search best I could and found nothing.

I have the script installed and configured. Using a nightly build with the Night skin.

When I go to the movie description section and hit the "Cinema" button I get a pop up box called "search results". In this box is the name of the movie I am trying to play along with some others. If I select said movie it brings me back to the movie description page. I then hit the "Play" button and the Cinema Experience script starts (sometimes).

From what I have been reading, I am under the impression that this is NOT they way it should play out? Seems like I am getting extra dialog boxes.

Shouldn't I just be able to hit the "Cinema" button and have the script start automatically?

Am I missing something?

Thanks all.

- Hardax - 2011-09-23

Well, answered my own question. It's using the nightly builds that is causing the issues. Dharma works as expected. This is unfortunate as I need the nightly for the AFP support (damn OSX Lion!).

Anyone know if any workarounds?

Cinema Experience fails to play trailers - lallhands - 2011-09-23

The failure is that it skips the trailers and trailer Outro videos and goes straight to the feature presentation intro and countdown videos. This happens whether or not I have the Movie Theater Intro movie playing. (I have tried it with no videos playing before the trailers and get the same results.

Sometimes it does work, but usually it fails (80-90% of the time). Here are screenshots of my config running on a new ION-64 build of Openelec on a Zotac 41 with Mediastream Redux skin. Logfiles follow.
