RE: [RELEASE] Cinema Experience - the new Home Theater Experience Script - kruuth - 2012-11-20

I'm having an issue in portable mode. I've got it set to play a single preview but it won't show my coming attractions video or previews. How do I fix this?

The log is here:

Xm, I hav a Jetway. Always has run smooth as glass for me and the price is right. Not to mention the built in remote.

Hi all, I'm trying to use the SVP with XBMC, so I've been using this build: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=106629
to use the DSPlayer which works fine, but I noticed that my Cinema Experience addon has stopped working- is there anyway to use DSPlayer in the latest Eden build, or to fix the addon issue?

The only error I really see is that your path to the Audio videos is incorrect(need to drop the Other at the end)

The DSPlayer version is not a supported version. The script relies on triggers that are sent by XBMC. The DSPlayer version does not send these properly.

The Frodo version of the script is still a ways away.

Giftie, your script is great! I installed a dedicated theatre with 106" screen, and this script delivers a great movie experience.
I set it up with THX videos for the theatre intro, then I used some old 60's era Coming Attractions Bumpers (played at random) plus some Cineplex Odeon and Famous Players which are Canadian theater chains, I used the old ones which my friends will appreciate.

Lastly I stole the oldest lamest cheesiest commercials from youtube which play as coming attractions outro. 1950's cigarette ads etc.

I am running the Frodo Beta 1 (repack) which is the newest Beta as of November 20/2012
Windows 7 SP1
Aeon Nox 4.0 (The Frodo version)

CE gives me a "Script Failed!: addon.py" error when I press the cinema button within movie info.

Some searching reveals this script is not compatible with Frodo yet, so I thought I would include a log file just incase you needed one. Keep up the great work !

P.S. It's shitty that the refresh rate option will be disappearing. My projector (Optoma HD33) takes about 12 seconds to switch refresh rates, making this script unusable as it's cycling from 60hz to 24hz and back every video. I suppose I will have to lock the display at 60hz and play the 24hz content at 60hz.

Yea, it's choking on something they removed.

I'll try to hack together a function version by the end of the weekend.

Cinema experience is what makes XBMC so great! Family and friends trully love the "home" movie experience that it provides. It is definitely the greatest feature on my system.

I was wondering if there were any chance on adding more videos before the featured film? I have created several intro videos and it is difficult to choose between all of them.

RE: [RELEASE] Cinema Experience - the new Home Theater Experience Script - euphemism123 - 2012-11-25

I'd first like to say thank you to everyone that has worked on this. I ran across this addon a few days ago and have been playing around with it, and I think I have it all set up with one itsy bitsy problem. After the video for the feature presentation, right before the movie is supposed to start, it just goes back to the movie menu. It doesn't play the actual movie.

I know the movie works, it appears that the cinema experience walks through the steps and then..poof, back at the menu

Any idea's what I have done wrong? Thanks very much for any and all help.

As I understand, httpapi is removed from XBMC Frodo, now JSON API should be used. How difficult is it to migrate from one to another?
As I see, there is ≈20 places where httpapi is used...

All the httpapi methods will be removed and there are no replacements for them(in JSONRPC). The biggest one that is going to piss people off is the Fro do version will not be able to disable the Auto Refresh.

But as my previous message stated, it will be a little while before I get my backup developing computer up to speed.
