RE: [RELEASE] Cinema Experience - the new Home Theater Experience Script - rmilyard - 2015-01-01
Hello all,
I have a few questions. First I am running release version of Kodi on a Windows 8.1 PC. I have CE 4.0.10 installed. I am having a few issues.
First one is script isn't playing music during trivia. I have music in a folder that I pointed CE to. With Gotham it was playing I believe.
Next just seems like randomly videos with sound the sound doesn't play
Last one is the Trailers never have sound. This one started to happen with Gotham so time back I think.

Using my remote (Event Ghost) when pressing "play", the movie starts. I would like when pressing play to start Cinema Experience (intro) and then the movie. Any help with this would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm interested to hear if anyone here been successfull in using the "multiple features" in Cinema Experience. I'm using Back row myself, but haven't been able to get it to work with more than one feature. Basically I have the same issue as this earlier, unaswered post.
What skins are you using to get this to work? Are there any instructions on how to get this to work on your particular skin?

So this randomly not playing sound is bugging me. I am trying to get setup again not sure what issue is.
It seems to work on PC upstairs which is playing back just via a sound card. The theater downstairs in using Pioneer SC-1522-k AVR. I have it all set to passthough sound and works fine for movies etc.

There is a feature in CEs settings that will let you launch CE when play is pressed. Its in Miscellaneous under override play button. Enable that, and it should do what you're asking.

Thanks. Tried that. However, when play is pressed, the screen flashes back to the same screen as before pressing play and then goes on to play the intro. Is there a way to work around getting the flashback or is there an alternative?

Seem CE is working with Kodi Helix however my THX MT2S file brings up some weird music overlay when it plays. Not sure if that's a CE issue or Kodi one.
Anyone have more of he audio format trailers in lossless and MKV type container? MT2S seems to give me fits at times. All the ones on Demoworld are MT2S.

I have the Carbon and Ace skin on my KODI that I occasionally use.
I now get every start-up error messages from Cinema experience.
When I try to disable or uninstall cinema experience I a told that it has a dependency on both skins, so I can not disable or uninstall.
How can I now solve the problem with this cinema experience, as it is not a good experience for me? (or do I need to ask this from both the skin owners?)

Giftie has been absent for awhile due to issues in real life. He's the one you'd be addressing your request to. For now I'd suggest downloading the trailers you want from YouTube with an app and storing them locally if you are looking for things not offered through the Apple service.

You can get the latest trailers from YouTube or where ever site they will be hosted on the same way that CE would have to stream them. If you want to discover something new you will find more by watching a bunch of trailers online than streaming a couple before watching a full movie.Or just accept that the new things you will discover will be in English.
At any rate, your request will be very near the bottom of all requests, bugs and fixes coming if/when Giftie returns to work on CE again. He's never responded to my PM asking how things were going. Doubt he's been seen around here in many months.

So this randomly not playing sound is bugging me. I am trying to get setup again not sure what issue is.
It seems to work on PC upstairs which is playing back just via a sound card. The theater downstairs in using Pioneer SC-1522-k AVR. I have it all set to passthough sound and works fine for movies etc.
So no one else is having this issue? Seems strange I would be the only one. It's making using CE basically not an options since most of the files and music don't play for me. The other day someone over watching me test it out comments looks amazing but without sound what is the point?
