There's gotta be like 27 Friday the 13ths by now. :p

- TomPiXX - 2011-01-19

Why not 25? Super Mario is 25!

- timdog82001 - 2011-01-19

Heh, well there are 23 Bond movies...

- Targettio - 2011-01-19

5-6 is a sensible(ish) number, any more than that is a little silly. 5 average films will be 8-9 hours...

As a side question, is there any way to get events from the cinema experience script. I am working on connecting my arduino controlled lights to xbmc. My end goal is for the lights to dim as the feature presentation intro begins to play (i.e. like a real cinema).

I know Nuka mentioned something about this sort of feature back on page 2, but has anything come of this?

So this new installment to the script, will it be on an update or will it be on the next version?

Sorry for not reading through 53 pages, and looking through all the downloadable stuff - can anyone point me to a good HD countdown clip, besides the IMAX one? Thanks... Smile

Are there countdown videos on that page?

EDIT: I guess I do see the one DOLBY one.

Dolby 1080p countdown video here: http://rapidshare.com/files/317999249/hd_dolby_countdown_lossless.m2ts

Here are some that I have. Some maybe duplicates.

Thanks SlaveUnit. Now I have tried the script and I have one major issue:
I would like to stream the latest movie trailers from Quicktime, this is fancy. However, when I try to stream the trailers via Cinema Experience, I can't get it to work properly. The trailers play for max 20 seconds, then they stop and have to buffer. This is true for both 720p but also 480p trailers (and I would like HD).
Now, when I browse the movietrailers with AMT Lite I have NO PROBLEM whatsoever streaming 1080p trailers. I have 25 mbit Fibre connection, so no problem here.
My conclusion is there must be some difference in the way the two scripts stream the Apple Movie trailers - the one in Cinema does not work for me, but the one in AMT Lite works perfectly... So can this please be investigated, would love this feature to work...
I'm running XBMC Live Dharma on an ASRock ION 330 box, nothing out of the ordinary.
Another small thing, how do you choose NO countdown trailer when you have chosen one? Seems you cant' disable it again... Thanks!

The apple trailers is one of the most flaky things about xbmc. Using this script should be the same as not using it. Personally I have buffering problems with both at times. I'm on a 22mbit connection. I think these random issues are just on Apple's end.

On the other note:
Giftie, can you add on/off or a reset button to the "movie ratings folder", "dolby/dts folder", and the "countdown" folder. It is a bit if a pain for user to edit the settings xml to get rid of these if they decide not to use them anymore.

Would it be possible instead of having a specific Countdown to play, if you could have it play a random one from a folder. Kinda like with the other videos . So if you have multiple countdowns your not seeing the same one over and over. Just an Idea. Again, thanks, this add on has been a HUGE part of my HT now.

giftie,
Wasn't this planned for the next version already?

Countdowns follow the format for most of the other video formats in the new version(no, it hasn't been released yet, still squashing bugs)

and as for:

I'll try to have these fixed as well in the next version as well(missed these ones when I corrected the music which originally was the same and drove me almost nuts)
