Hi giftie,
it is quite some time ago when we were talking last time. I had problems (still have) with playing my intro trailer and then haaving some streamed apple trailer. It was just not working in that combination anymore.
So I have decided to download some trailer I want, put them in a folder and have the trailer feature linked to that. That way I could have my intro video plus my trailers.
Unfortunately very often even this setup was not working. My intro video was playing but no trailers at all. Today I have the feeling that I found out why. Every time it was not working, I obviously was watching a movie that still was a rar file. As soon as I have unpacked the rar file all was working fine.
Is that a known issue? Did I miss something.

I have not seen this behavior before, though some how it doesn't surprise me at all.... I'll have to see if I can recreate the fault... and see where the problem lies...

Thanks for trying. What I don´t understand is, why are all people here are soooo happy and impressed about this feature. I know, you did a wonderful job on it but from a certain point it was not working anymore as it used to be. Like my experience. It all worked great, my intro video followed by some streamed trailers but then this was not happening anymore and even you did not know why. Something about the streamed trailer has changed. I mean if all the people here are so satisfied, what are they doing with this CE feature? Don´t they use the streamed trailers? I am just wondering because I get the feeling this all is not working only on my PC

I'll review my work next week to see if i made some mistakes or perhaps some better translation. I'll let you know.

I use downloaded trailers with HCE. That way I never have to put up with the glitches you often get when streaming trailers. Using an autodownloder for trailers and you never have to worry about trailers not being available. It is painless and should address the problem you are experiencing

Agreed HCE is pretty good and very configurable. CE is a great add-on that has a small issue with apple trailers. grab HCE and your trailers will work just fine

Just a quick note if anyone is getting intermittent crashes with the latest pre-eden nightlies.
I was getting quite frequent crashes, but disabling the tv-tunes addon seems to have completely fixed the issue. In any case I think either the tv-tunes addon, (or its integration with BackRow skin) is broken with the latest nightlies...
Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone else is having the same problems I was...

Now running the latest tv-tunes version. That is working fine now, but if enabled it causes Cinema Experience to hang XBMC before the first intro clip is played.

I noticed that on my system when I play a movie with Cinema Experience everything works correctly, but the cpu usage while the movie is playing is around 60% - 70%. I basically play some trivia slides along with music and then play two trailers from the Apple web site with Cinema Experience. When I play a movie without using Cinema Experience the cpu usage hangs around 12%. Is the higher cpu usage when a movie is started with Cinema Experience a normal thing??

Keep in mind that you are using a development version of XBMC and these things pop up... Also things have changed in XBMC that affect this version of Cinema Experience. There is a newer version available here -> http://www.mediafire.com/file/8qr0d0k2k1eh6l7/script.cinema.experience.1.4.8.zip that should work a bit better with pre-Eden(though untested with the latest version)

That seems a little higher than it should be(mine usually is maybe 5-10% above with out use) It is higher due to the fact the script is running in the background taking care of little things... Hmm.. you are running a decent processor too... thats odd..
