mad-max Wrote:Hey Kode,
hey all others around...

I don't know if it's a help, but regarding cdarts, one of our xbmcnerds.com users made a gimp-fu script for cdarts...

just copy the script to \~\GIMP-2.0\share\gimp\2.0\scripts\
restart gimp
and then you have a button "cd" in the menu...then just opening the png from what you want to extract the cdart and click the button...finished...
if it doesn't fit, there's a slider to adjust the size of the cutted area...

you can find the script over at xbmcnerds.com in the download-database, exactly here:
http://www.xbmcnerds.com/index.php?page=DownloadDBData&dataID=36

hope this helps...

cheers,
mm
Any chance of sharing this script to non xbmcnerds users?
You have to register to be able to download the script and because it's all in German (can read a bit dough) I will never really use the site.

Any chance you've looked at reducing the image size to under approx. 600kb?

Hey MS,

Surerly I can upload it for everybody:

I hope MU is ok... ;-)

And no, unfortunately I did not take a look at reducing file size...did not find time for it

cheers,
mm

Thanks. The download worked Wink

No problem. Haven't had much time either. Still working on our downloader add-on. I have zero coding knowledge of python (or any other language) so it's eating up my time to get it how i like it. Copy/pasting code isn't really the way to go if we want to really expand the number of options.

@Kode
Any news on if/what future movie support will be like?

Like cdart/discart, logos etc..
I know there isn't that much support for it yet but i like to be prepared Smile
Maybe just the movies section with requests disabled.

Maybe it can work both ways. If more and more people use our add-on maybe the amount of contributors will grow also.

My current thinking for Movie (and possibly game) support is ClearLOGO, ClearART and cdART, though I'm open to suggestions.

Well it's definitly a good start.
Don't know if movie sets/collections cases will be a good idea. I'd say start with those three and see how it goes.
Will the API get the same layout as TV shows?

- Kode - 2011-10-31

The API will follow basically the same layout as TV yes, but as it won't be added until the new site is live it will use the same format as the new tv web service, details are here temporarily https://docs.google.com/document/d/1hh5F-H0RQecvkhinwtyu2h0mDR94WJffwBsPWkIhms0/edit

Oops ! Just miss the right topic ! sorry

- igbygoesclown - 2011-11-04

Thanks @jacktyler. I just watched the video. That was really helpful, found some time today and practice a lil bit, made a few artists logos, it came out looking okay but still not good enough for anyone but a blind man.Laugh

If anyone wants to get more involved with the site you can see what positions are currently open here: http://fanart.tv/contribute/

@Kode

I have a small problem with deriving the season number for seasonthumbs from the tvshow API.
At the time there's no way of knowing which seasonthumb belongs to a season. There's just numbered incremental.
Here's an example.
http://fanart.tv/api/fanart.php?id=79349

Image
This is for season five however the image name is: D_79349 (3).jpg so you would think it was three.

http://fanart.tv/fanart/79349/seasonthumb/Dexter (11).jpg This one is for season 2.

Is there an way of telling to what season it actually belongs?
It would also be nice to know to what 'set of seasonthumbs' it belongs because so you could at least get all the same kind of thumbs.

- Kode - 2011-11-13

Yeah, season thumbs need some work, currently they aren't tied to particular seasons or tied to "sets", it's definitely something I intend to put on the new site though.

I will be waiting patiently Rolleyes
Maybe also add some rating/language/size tags to it.

Do you maybe know a way of collection all studio/channel logos? Now they are scattered all over this forum. Would be great if there would a uniform way of storing them somewhere so all skinnners use the same ones and people could contribute missing ones.

At the moment i just collect them from everywhere and store them locally.

lol, as I said on the fanart.tv forums:

Quote:I have put out many calls for help on the site, noone has answered them, so I am the only developer working on the site.

It’s not a show stopping bug so I am more interested in spending the little time I have available to work on the site, working on the new site.

I will make sure I include the ability in the new site, but I probably wont look into adding the ability on the current site.

I have a fair bit of time off over Christmas and the gf is working some of it, so I am hoping to get a fair amount done then.

Really hoping to get someone help with the design before then as that is what I'm struggling with at the moment.

Currently I have show/artist pages working and they look good, but I'm struggling with laying out the main section pages, general pages, forum pages and the footer.

I would love to help however i have very little webdesign experience. I only started coding python a month ago and still struggling to get that where i want. I also have some time off soon so i'll be looking into adding some cdarts. I'll see where i can jump in to get things going.
