Right, the site layout changed. I've just pushed the updated the scraper (version 1.1.3) to the repositories.

New version of scraper is installed and works fine.

Thanks for the very fast solution

I use videobuster since I have started to use XBMC, for me the best German scraper with the best cover images. However, since 2 or 3 weeks I have noticed problems (as described in this thread).

So I have reinstalled XBMC and videobuster yesterday evening and now the scraper is working again. However, when I initially scanned my movies (a few weeks ago), videobuster was able to identify almost 99% of my movies. Due to the reinstall (to a nightly build) I made a new scan and now the scraper identify about 65% of my movies, even when I have to admit that I did not changes any filenames.

Is there any reason for this behaves? How can I increase the hit rate?

NOTE: When renaming my movie files, I always use the videobuster website to copy / paste the exact name and year they use.

Any help to increase hit rate would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Kind regards,

Anira

UPDATE: In the meantime I figured out that it has something to do with "Umlaute" (ä, ö, ü), special character like ' and ß and length of filename. Again, I didn't had these problems at the beginning!

Please enable debug logging and post the xbmc.log here (using pastebin).

There's nothing we can do about it at this point. Videobuster.de changed the design and apparently the search routine. Let's wait for another site/search update. Sorry.

Mhh,

I am using the newest PVR build and no update of the scraper till now.
Could it be that only the main repo is updated and not the beta repo?

Just had a look: 1.1.3 is installed but XBMC still tells me "server not reachable". Strange...

I made a couple of tests and recognized that the search routine of http://www.videobuster.de misinterpret special characters (like ä, ö, ü, ß, -, ",", ...).

http://www.videobuster.at seems to use another search routine which can handle these special characters. I'm not sure if this "work around" can be used for the scraper too. If yes you just need to change the created search url to "www.videobuster.at" (instead of "www.videobuster.de").

Example:
https://www.videobuster.de/titlesearch.php?tab_search_content=movies&view=title_list_view_option_list&search_title=born%20to%20be%20wild%20%2d%20saum%e4ssig%20unterwegs&search_year_to=2007
https://www.videobuster.at/titlesearch.php?tab_search_content=movies&view=title_list_view_option_list&search_title=born%20to%20be%20wild%20%2d%20saum%e4ssig%20unterwegs&search_year_to=2007

I would love to see the scraper working again (imho best scraper for german movie titles so far).

Kind regards,

Anira

I've updated the videobuster.de scraper to version 1.1.4 today. There's no problem with umlauts and the current scraper. Please report back.

- timmi1000 - 2011-09-30

Does this scraper work with xbmc 10.1 or better/only with an actual nightly build? Sorry for my german-school-english.

I reinstalled 10.1 and the scraper works now.
Tonight I'll try an actual nightly build.

- mkortstiege - 2011-09-30

Dharma + Eden-Pre will work.

- Anira - 2011-09-30

Sry for my late response.

The update to 1.1.4 did NOT solve the problem. However, all of a sudden the scraper is working again without any changes (since today). It seems to me that videobuster have changed their search engine again.

Even when I don't know exactly why, the scraper works again and I'm happy Wink

Anyways, thanks for your support vdrfan.

Best regards,

Anira
