Hey Davilla,
This thread is still on-topic with the original 120 GB Apple TV not the new model, right?
I saw a post from Sam elsewhere indicating that he's close to a new CrystalBuntu image, are you working with him on this or do you do your own thing?
I have a fresh Apple TV here that I was just about the put the old image on, but if there's anything I can do to test out a Dharma/Crystal image first, happy to do so as I have nothing to lose.
When you say nothing to do about it right now, is that indicating that Dharma isn't going to run well on our 120 GB Apple TVs and we should stick with the version of the driver and XBMC that are in the CrystalBuntu image for now?

Apple only sold 40 and 160 GB driver versions of the AppleTV, and yes. This refers to the AppleTV 1, not the hockey puck sized AppleTV 2.

Dharma on ATV1 works fine for me, as others have also indicated. But some seem to be having issues. Not sure why. Anyway, there are many changes planned for CrystalHD, some might help with overall stability issues that some are seeing.

Davilla you crafty bugger! Why didn't you tell me you had an ATV2 image coming out? Heck spending the $99 on a ATV2 that can play 1080p is a no brainer. You are gonna sell Apple a lot of ATV2s, that's for sure.
If you guys get this working without stuttering on 1080p I'll put one of these on every single TV that I've got.

Where did you read that? The ATV2 can already play 1080p files, but not output them. Have a look at the Plex client for it. Pretty nice.
It wouldn't surprise me one bit to see some kind of apps store for the ATV2. That would change a lot.
The next hardware revision of the ATV2 is rumoured to output 1080p. Same with the iPhone 5, etc... Who knows!
It would be great if there was an XBMC solution of sorts for it ...

yesterday I configured everything on the usb stick and I decided to move it to my hdd today, but when I put on my TV the xbmc gave a black screen. I figured that a reboot would fix the problem, but I dont get any further then the small x onscreen (I boot from the usb drive, and didnt move anyting yet).
When I went to bed everything still worked and now it seems broken, any ideas how this is possible?
edit: correction, I get the xbmc boot image, but after that the screen stays black.
I can ssh into it though. I get this when I try to start xbmc from ssh:
atv@appletv-ubuntu:~$ xbmc
Error: unable to open display
XBMC needs hardware accelerated OpenGL rendering.
Install an appropriate graphics driver.

Did you unplug the ATV over night? Sometimes the filesystem gets corrupted if you do that.

nope, i did unplug my router a few times, but atv was up all night. It seems the filesystem is corrupted though:

ValueError: invalid literal for int():Those are the last lines from my xbmc.log, lots of errors and lots of files that didnt load.
How can I repair this as quickly as possible?

You could try deleting the Alaska skin, see if XBMC loads the default skin. But I would rewrite the image to the stick, or even better to another stick just in case.

tnx feikenberg, I guess the skin had updating issues, I get that a lot with the alaska skin. Can I turn autoupdating off? It never updates normally, normally I would go back to the confluence skin automaticly though and then I would reinstall the skin.
Also, I get the error that recentlyadded.py fails, the whole time (every minute or so).

You can turn off autoupdating, but it would affect all your plugins.
As for the error message: try uninstalling the recently added plugin and reinstalling it.
