Unfortunately I'm too poor to have an iPhone, however millions of devices support a2dp and the like

Surely the same can be said for this entire pull request... It is supposedly possible to achieve this in pulseaudio and some extra software but then that is not running on most XBMC HTPCs as it does not work terribly well with XBMC (at least in never used to).

Bluetooth configuration in XBMC is all good, I have never said anything. Us being an AD2P server however is far out of scope for the application. The configuration of AD2P however is all good. Thats the difference, perhaps we meant the same thing?

Has there been any progress on merging the patch by llyzs?

I've found the Trac ticket at http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/11003 and a pull request at https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/369/files but nothing since then.

XBMC is in feature freeze again at the moment, but it'd be really nice if this could be merged once that's lifted. The trac ticket http://trac.xbmc.org/ticket/11003 was opened two years ago and there hasn't been much recent feedback on the pull request at https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/369/ .

The reason why I'd like to see a2dp support is so that I can use my android tablet (nexus 7) as my car stereo using XBMC as my media player. There are other programs available, but XBMC... well those of us who have used it know...
