Make sure you are on the latest version of Alaska and then change the to the aeon theme in appearance settings.

Hey! I noticed in those pictures, that he has modified how each of the pictures of each movie is displayed. The current theme makes them too white in my opinion, and I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out how to make it so that the current alaska theme has almost no dimming effect on the movie titles I'm not looking at? As it is, I can hardly see each one, and that makes it really hard to tell all the different movies... (I'm using the Alaska revisited mod)

I think I am missing something here. I've been looking for a way to change the white background of Alaska Revisited. Reading this thread, it appears that it's possible. Can I do it without installing a theme?

I went to the Home Artwork section of the Alaska settings and I only have artwork folders for each subsection (Movies, TV Shows, Pictures etc). I don't see one for the home screen backgrounds.

I would appreciate some guidance.

Thanks

The item to change is called "Custom Background".

Hmm. Can't find that in the settings.
Here's what I have. Am I looking in the wrong place? Or maybe older version of the skin?

Sorry for the image size. I did it in a hurry.

Looks like quite an old release indeed. Please use the one from here - http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=96452

Thanks odt_x. That took care of it.
I should have looked at the version before opening my mouth.

Quick theme question. I want to use the aeon theme but make a few changes such as making the border around banners square to match some of the newer views as I have in my furygold theme.

If I rename the aeon theme/colours files to "default" will they be used as the basis for my modified theme rather than the actual default or is the original default built into the skin somewhere else?

I hope that makes sense. Any advice will be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Custom Icons - Try them out! - misajay - 2011-03-15

Wasn't sure if I should put these in this thread, or create a new one - Here are some custom icons I'm using on the icon view home layout. They are from David Lanham's Flurry Icon Collection. I did not design these, but they are free to use and I think they work great for XBMC and look great with Alaska Revisited. Here are the icons I'm using specifically:

Here is David Lanham's site:

Using a default.xml colour file will only affect the textures.xbt not a theme named default.xbt.

a-tom, they are only background images, for use with Custom Backgrounds. Put them anywhere you like as long as ATV can see the directory. Your options are to use a single background image or a directory of images as the background.

This is different than a theme, as a theme will also have a matching .xml file specifying colors used and may have a matching .xbt file with replacement images. Most themes when complete are submitted to Hitcher and he includes them with AR. things like this background pack are really extra media and are usually left up to the user to source.

ok thx for the answer. so is it in general possible that the alaska revisited skin looks like it is shown at the picture in the second posting in this thread on an atv2? i mean the icons background etc and when yes how? Themes and colors are grayed out in the settings of the appleTV.
