[WINDOWS] Best(but still cheapish) laptop for XBMC - prn_star - 2011-01-15 05:44

I've setup xbmc on many computers from R3610 to my asrock 330 but now a friend has asked me to recommend a good LAPTOP. I don't really know any thing about laptops.

Question:
What is a good laptop to buy running windows 7 that will support XBMC / 1080p?

They didn't say a price so I was going to do a cheap, better, ultra best-expensive comparison.

Is anyone using xbmc on a newish model laptop and getting 1080p. I usually prefer Intel myself.

I have two sony laptops with bluray drive that plays 1080p (compressed) over wireless N Flawlessly.

I would suggest any sony with bluray drive (if bluray then 1080p compatible) and with HDMI. You cannot go wrong. hth:-)

Does the chipset or video make a difference? Should I stick with Nvidia?

Nvidia or AMD GPUs are fine with Windows. Just avoid pure Intel GPUs if you can.
