Weird question, I downloaded the genre fanart and icons pack , once unzipped where do I put the folders if the skin is installed via the repo, do I have go into the hidden directories?

Also is the genre fanart and icons pack all ready included in the latest skin revision of 1.2.3? (I haven't had a chance to look yet)

Thanks
TC

Hello all, I'm new to XBMC and have been really enjoying this theme - it has a great look to it, very sleek and stylish. Great job to all involved!

I have a few questions. Forgive me if these are newbie questions, I couldn't find the answers elsewhere.

How do I activate some of the additional views mentioned earlier, like the half wall, wall and cover flow? It seems that only the FanArt and RightSide Panel views are showing up by default. I didn't see an option in settings, does it need to be hand modded? I'm using the most recent version of Cirrus Extended.

Can these views also be used in the Games/Programs section? I like the FanArt view a lot for it's ability to display data, but would love to use the wall or cover flow to mix things up.

Also, is there a way to activate Movies and TV Shows for the main home page? (I know they're in the submenu right now) Or would I simply just use the customizable home page favorites options in the skin settings?

Thank you very much for your help, and for all the work everyone's put in to make the skin look so sharp

i have a problem with custom home menu items. i have a favorite that i would like to put in the home menu. it worked fine with aeon nox, but cirrus extended is by far my preferred skin. when i try to add the favorite, i always get a script error saying favorites.xml could not be found. i logged in to my atv2 and navigated to the skin folder for CE and it was there, but empty. any idea on how to fix this? i'm using CE 1.2.3 an so far, no update solved this issue for me. any help would be appreciated.

There is something wrong with the script in cirrus extended, anyway you should be able to add favourites to home menu. I get the script error too, but it works. I'll take a look ...

EDIT: I think it's an old script.favourites in skin folder. We have to update it. Will be fixed for next Update.

I'm on a fairly new xbmc build, i added the unstable ppa and upgraded (linux). I'm seeing a recentlyadded.py error with this skin and a few others. Figured I'd ask here first before I get blasted out of the linux support section Smile

I believe there were some changes a few xbmc builds back that may have affected it.

This is my new favorite skin though--I will live without recently added if i have to!

I think there is no issue with the skin, recentlyadded script comes with xbmc, you should try another build or a script.recentlyadded that works.
Which version of the script have you? Working with 2.0.5 for me.

butchabay, thanks for the response, not positive where it shows version for that? At the top of recentlyadded it shows "free sotware foundation; either version 2, or (at your option) any later version." - but I'm guessing that has nothing to do with the file?

...xbmc\addons\script.recentlyadded\addon.xml in the addon.xml you should see the version.

don't know where the script is located in linux as i'm using windows.

I ended up rolling back to 10.1 - it had the fix i needed for DD5.1. now my recentlyadded works again so, dunno what it was but it works now.

Let me ask you a question... on the big poster view (movies) where the plot/info scrolls from right to left. Is there a way to pin that static, or make it appear faster/without trigger?

Thanks!

Butchabay, which XBMC file provides the setting for current skin? I ask that because sometimes after a lockup of XBMC (Pandora caused, mostly), the system reverts to Confluence and Cirrus-X must be reinstalled because it's no longer an option in "Appearance". I'd like to figure out why this corruption occurs.

'Clean' install (no Cirrus)
WIN7
Zotac Mag
No log because XBMC never properly records these crashes (nor does WIN event viewer).

Also, I'm surprised by the amount of errors and warnings in XBMC's log. Mine is a very clean install.

This has happened to me as well, last night and one other time. The previous time it happened was when a new build of Cirrus Extended was pushed through the repository.

I'm running XBMC 10.0, Windows 7. not at home so can't check Cirrus version, but it's set to auto-update so...

- butchabay - 2011-03-11

May pay attention, do not set auto update, the skin can't be updated when you are on the skin that will be updated. This is not a skin bug, it was mentioned in more threads. You have to switch to another skin and check for updates in the repo, update and switch back to cirrus ext. ...
