I had the same question as you. Hope someone can provide some insight on this matter.
UPDATE: I noticed that if I choose TV Show as a content, the channel won't get added. Other such as Movie genre works though.

Did you add it via channel config? Also check to make sure it is populated by opening the playlist.

Yep I added it through channel config, that is the only way to add channel right? It's weird because only custom added TV Show (selected via TV Show) doesn't work. Other options such as movie genres, tv genres, and directory are working.
Also is it possible to add two or more different tv shows in one channel?

Indeed, turning off the background update seemed to solve my issue.
Have some questions though:
1. Regarding the info box, is it possible to display the season number and episode number as well?
2. Why is the info box doesn't show my TV info when I use my custom smart playlist? The only thing that is shown is the filename. Watched episodes shows up as well even though they are watched.

I have been having an issue since updating to the beta 11. I have ver 2.0 of PseudoTV and when I setup a channel based off of a TV Show that is scanned into the XBMC library it will only work on 2 of the 4 channels. All of the shows appear properly in the library mode. All other channel types seem to be working perfectly. It does try to scan for channels 3 and 4 at startup. But, they never appear in the guide. Tried removing shows and re-adding them to library. Reinstalling PseudoTV. Adding the shows on another channel number. Nothing worked. TIA

One feature that would be nice is the ability to swap the existing channels.
For example, 'Insert current channel AFTER/BEFORE' <channel>.

would love it as there is one sopcast stream which i watch everytime there is a televised football game.

Can't Exit PTV on ATV2 - Naughty_FeLiX - 2011-12-26
Hi All
I have searched hi and low and whilst i have found mentioned that the issue with using the menu button to exit - it doesn't work on an Apple TV2 and i was wondering is there a simply config file i can install or create to address this as it is driving me nuts!
I have PTV installed on my HTPC and it works a treat but that is in another room and i am looking to replace it with an ATV in the future once i get all the bits working that i like to use.

Hey there Felix, I'm new to PTV as well and had started to familiarize myself with it since last week. So far so good.
To answer your question:
1. I believe the recommended way to do so is creating your own Smart Playlist then select it in the Channel Editor.
2. You can find it on the Add-on Settings -> Open Channel Configuration
