I'm loving PseudoTV but I have a few questions (sorry if they have already been asked but this thread is really long, has anyone thought about opening a sub forum just for PseudoTV?),

Is there any way to add a streaming channel to pseudotv? Specifically a news channel like ABC news Australia? News is the one thing I want to watch live.

Not easily

Is there any way to set up a channel of Mp3's? It'd be nice to have a 'radio channel' as my music video collection is pretty limited.

Not yet. Perhaps in the future Jason will get us this. Currently TVTime (No longer supported) supports this.

Is there any way to change the icon that displays for the next show from the exclamation point to the dvd cover art?

Don't know.

Is there a way to get idents to play inbetween shows? A lot of my shows have the credits cut off, I'd like to have a short video there just to break the shows up.

See Directory channels.

Is there a way to get a channel to play more than one movie genre? I don't have a lot of sci-fi or action movies so I'd like them to just play on one channel.

Make your own playlist for this.

Thanks for all the work, this is a great application.

Once Frodo is released, will you be adding the ability to include PVR channels?

FEATURE REQUEST:

Add an option to allow us to only use specific library sources (like during initial channel building)... the reason I would want to do this is that I have some shows under 2 - 3 seperate sources (ie- One source from Pneumatic Nzb .STRM files, another from 1Channel's .STRM files, etc...) I do this for a failsafe incase one service isn't currently working or working slow, I can just use the other source.

However when I setup PseudoTV this would obviously cause 2-3X more duplicate listings... in my example I would like to choose to only use items found in my Pneumatic Nzb .STRM source folder (all of the sources are set for TV content and scraped)[/i]

Assuming these streams are in a different folder location you can create a playlist that says add show %name% and NOT in folder %folder name%. Then add a channel with this playlist.

Hey everyone.... new to PseudoTV. It is pretty life changing, wow.

I've been using it just on my iMac in my office while I work, but ready to make the leap to feature it in the HTPC I'm getting ready to build.

One problem remains for me to make the leap though: VERY loud audio popping whenever I switch between channels. Like full volume, no matter what volume my speakers are at. Following the loud pop, a lot of the time whatever switches on goes "mute" and I need to physically go over and turn up the audio for it to return.

I'm using the most recent PseudoTv build (as per link in OP), newest Eden, on a Mac, etc. Edit: Just wanted to stress this is a very simple, download-and-install situation. Haven't done any scripting, not really any messing with xbmc's default options, even just sticking with Confluence. Although I have tried a variety of skins, and that doesn't seem to affect the issue.

I've tried searching (and manually reading through this mega thread) to resolve this issue, and have only found people talking about the problem, not the solution.

Thanks for the insanely great work to those involved, and thanks in advance if you're able to point me in the right direction!

Just came to say OUTSTANDING work. I recently upgraded my HTPC to take advantage of some of the cooler aspects of XBMC and this is definitely one of them. Huge props to the devs. Great job. This is a very impressive plug-in that really shows off some cool things you can do with XBMC.

I am still having the problem with saving new rules, or removing old rules, please assist...

Are we supposed to guess at what you have done so far? what your setup is? what skin you are using? etcHuh??

My crystal ball says that you have done something wrong somewhere.

Hi,

I am doing a fresh out of the box setup of XBMC, and found some nice info about PseudoTV, i can se on GitHub, there is added support for HDHomeRun.

Quote:Stable-pre commit of the hdhomerun livetv channel configuration. Here is
an
example settup in the settings2.xml file. An xmltv.xml file must exist
in the same directory as the settings2.xml file for this to work.

<setting id="Channel_554_type" value="8" />
<setting id="Channel_554_1" value="I554.183401995.microsoft.com" />
<setting id="Channel_554_2"
value="hdhomerun://1314D5C5-1/tuner1?channel=auto:135&program=646" />
<setting id="Channel_554_changed" value="true" />
<setting id="Channel_554_time" value="899" />
<setting id="Channel_554_rulecount" value="0" />

But im not that good ad GitHub, so how do i get this, for my XBMC setup?

Hi - I think (could be wrong) but I think, the HDHomerun support is part of a fork that is being handled by someone else. Can't find the thread now, but have a little look around and you should be able to find it.

Running PseudoTv on frodo git nightlies and getting script errors when trying to launch. Any ideas?

I noticed this too. I would love to start using the Frodo Nightlies but noticed PTV was no longer working on it. I don't suppose you could share the default.py file? I have no clue on how to edit the file Sad

I have been having this same problem for a few months now ever since I set up my Pseudo Tv and I can't get anyone to solve this. Jason did add a time delay type option on a recent nightly build but it did nothing for me besides delay the time it took to hangs channels :/ I'm on a Mac as well and all my videos stores on a external HD I was hoping maybe it was the lag time between the external and the computer via USB? Other than that this issue seems to be ignored unfortunately Sad

RE: [RELEASE] PseudoTV (Video) Addon - Virtual EPG and TV Channel Surfing Script for XBMC - xkudeki - 2012-10-20

I've been using "eden" for a few months now with the PseudoTV script running with all my media on another pc. I have a channel, 39 to be exact, for one tv show. It plays fine for a while and then disappears off of the EPG entirely(as in the listing goes ch37,ch38,____,ch40 and so on). This has happened 2 times now and all I can do is a force reset and the channel will reappear.I had the same problem with the TVTime script as well, same show and channel. Please help me. (I think that when it runs every episode and resests, the "only air unwatched" comes into effect, even though I do not have that enabled.) Any help is appreciated!

I took the plunge and tried to edit the Default.py file myself. I deleted this block of text...

if xbmc.executehttpapi("GetGuiSetting(1, services.webserver)")[4:] == "False":
try:
forcedserver = __settings__.getSetting("ForcedWebServer") == "True"
except:
forcedserver = False

if forcedserver == False:
dlg = xbmcgui.Dialog()
retval = dlg.yesno('PseudoTV', 'PseudoTV will run more efficiently with the web', 'server enabled. Would you like to turn it on?')
__settings__.setSetting("ForcedWebServer", "True")

...Now PTV starts in Frodo!! Big Grin

I tried using it with the latest nightly build, but the Channel guide is running slow for me. It could be that something has changed in XBMC or maybe PTV needs some tweaking, or maybe something is wrong with my setup.
