Cheers eskro Wink I've ordered one and hopefully I'll see it working with the Harmony remote and loose the keyboard forever Smile

- eskro - 2011-11-10

oh it does work! i use my harmony650 remote with a FLIRC dongle Tongue

- mattchapman - 2011-11-21

I just bought a Harmony 650 and use it with an ehome RC6 receiver I had with my existing MediaGate GP IR02 remote. I changed the delays using the software but its not as snappy as my MediaGate remote.

Apparently using the HP receiver will fix it. Can anyone tell me why using a different receiver will work better? Does a receivers performance depend on the remote control?

- eskro - 2011-11-21

i know you said you did it already but, using harmony software,
i usually set my "required time to respond between presses" to 0ms
and i also set the "required time to respond during actual presses" to 0/5

try that, its really snappy here Smile

Thanks. Did that already - it makes it much better but not perfect.

well, it feels snappy enough here,
its not as fast as if im using my keyboard
but its pretty fast none the less

Hi
I am trying to configure my HP IR Receiver 5188-1667 with harmony one and lirc.
I have read a lot of threads, but cant get it to work.
if someone have the config files for this configuration (hardware.conf and lircd.conf) a copy would be very appriciated!!
I have my harmony one set up as a MCE profile and I can send commands to the reciver (tested with irw) and all commands are correct. the problem is that XBMC does not repond to the remote.

I'm playing with the same issue now. See post #6 on this thread for some explanations and possible solution with adjusting the "repeat" setting.

I am trying to get one OVU400103/00 in ebay. There is only one used one being sold by a person (http://bit.ly/uC8TmX) or lots of ones from China/Hong Kong (suspect knockoffs).

Any help on getting a quality/new (even if it is OEM) of those? I am living outside the USA, but have a friend in Phoenix coming to my place in December. He could bring me one.

Regards

OK, just know that you will NEVER be able to get the Harmony to operate as fast as the original remotes. However, by reducing the delays and meddling with the repeat it can get pretty close.

eskro,

I am trawling the FLIRC forums for learning more about it.

Here some question that you can help me with:

1. Do you use it with Harmony? If yes, which device did you choose to program Harmony?

2. Do you face any lag/delay/repeat issues? Is it snappy?

3. Does FLIRC awake the HTPC via the USB port (this is key for me). I run XBMCBuntu-like setup, with the proper configs for wake on USB. However, I have found some remote/mouse/keyboard receivers that no matter what, will never wake the HTPC. Do you have it awaking your PC?

Thanks for your info!
