Add On Installation Failure - masturshake - 2011-01-20
Hey guys new to the forum and this application.
Having a little trouble installing this add on scraper

Tried to do it through the system menu 3x and no such luck
i've gotten the failed install 3 times on the bottom right
is there some step im forgetting here ?

Grab a debug log from a failed install.

That's not all that much use. There'll be other errors. Post a full debug log of a failed install on pastebin.

EDIT: what is the content of animenewsnetwork.zip? looks like its not in the proper addon format. is it Dharma compatible?

Seems to be a XML sheet and a jpg (icon for the scraper i assume)
that idk i posted the link up above and if its not Dharma compatible where could i get my hands on a non Dharma version i just downloaded the default one from the site

yeah, that is a non Dharma compatible scraper
,you would need that scraper updated to work with Dharma version of XBMC

Oh thats unfortunate...... sigh dosent seem to be any anime scrapers out there besides this one... and this was the newest one
amet is there a way i can get my hands on a older build for the time being?
also if i do will it have the add on installation built in or will have to do it manually

there is metadata.bestanime.co.kr in Official repo taht you could try

pre Dharma XBMC does not have any addon managers, you will have to do a manual install.

Well ive been putting it to the test it seems its realizing most of my animes quite easily and putting them in the TV shows area with there own poster art etc.
My only two complaints are
A. So far only 2 have been named the rest are spelled out in some type of hieroglyphics lol
B. They made a bunch of folders but not a single ep in any of them... could this be due to me not naming them a certain way
if so whats usually the proper way to name them and i had read of such a program for windows anyone know of one for mac
( i name my files animename and the ep # EX. Shiki 5)
another interesting note is that its doing the same thing that the stock tv scraper does which is makes a folder but dosent put any episodes in it.
maybe i should reset xbmc clean and try again?
