when it is JB is the apple logo when missing (in the right corner)

- kevron - 2011-02-04

I am pretty sure its in the corner on mine. Kids have taking siege to the tv for the time being.

- dantyr - 2011-02-04

how can it see it work....Huh?

- kevron - 2011-02-04

AFAIK the only way to tell is if it boots without being tethered. Or try and SSH into it. If you can SSH into it its JB'd

- dantyr - 2011-02-04

if I have the power cord in I cant get into dfu mode. after I restored it and uploaded the ipsw file and then tethered it, still no boot. I get the apple logo and then nothing. arrggg

any here in houston that can lend a helping hand?

Are you running the Tetherboot in CMD? If so, when the apple logo is on, you need to Menu+down to get it to reboot, then Menu+Play to get into DFU. If your running the tether boot it'll tell you if your not in DFU.. it'll scroll something along the lines of "Must be in DFU"

You can use Putty to SSH into your atv2. To get XBMC on your atv2 use the wiki.

how do I see the apple logo if its hooked up to pcHuh I have it hooked up via usb to pc and then on the cmd line I run the below:
CD desktop/tethered
then
tetheredboot -i iBSS.k66ap.RELEASE.dfu -k kernelcache.release.k66

in the terminal everycomes up as fine as it shows in dfu mode and I get the below. I then plug in the power cord and unplug the usb cord , put hdmi cord in and turn tv on. nothing I just get a flashing light on the atv and sometimes if I hit menu an apple will come up and then nothing. Do you think my ipsw file is corrupt or somethingHuh

Did you make one in VM, or did you use the link that was posted a few pages back?

I was able to have my HDMI and my USB plugged in at the same time. After I got the second 100% and it exited then I plugged in the Power and unplugged the USB from my computer. I still have my Micro and my HDMI plugged in.

The Devs of Greenpois0n are packaging a tetherless JB now.

Again a Mac JB. But it seems a Windows one might be up real soon. I believe they were doing them at the same time, but I could be completely wrong.

Yes it sounds like a problem with your IPSW.

- dantyr - 2011-02-04

OK now in PuTTY i use host name 192.168.0.14 and a new window open.
I need to "login as:" is it "$ ssh root@" and so on

- kevron - 2011-02-04

don't use $

Quote:ssh [email protected]

then it will take a sec. it'll ask you for your password.

Quote:alpine
(I'm assuming you haven't changed it) it might ask you to type yes or no.. type yes..

then follow the wiki.

- dantyr - 2011-02-04

login as: ssh [email protected]
ssh [email protected]@192.168.0.14's password:

When i come too password i cant do anything

looks like the JB is up... I haven't tried it.. Might try it tomorrow.

Edit to add: Windows JB. looks like a Mac and Linux version is up also. RC5 I believe is the one they just finished.

- kevron - 2011-02-04

just mac JB is up for now.. damn.. but hopefully the Windows will be up soon... the linux and windows links go to nowhere..
