NO Probs here is another one for you
While In a Movie the Audio and Subtitle settings menu does not work with MKV's the entire menus just seems dead while the video is playing or paused in the background

Your response is very vague Dan could you please post in the other thread what exactly you tired and and offer some advice about exactly what settings I have wrong since the menus seems to be totaly dead with MKV's and my ATV2 with XBMC install is fresh out of the box yesterday, I've not really changed many settings and I'm not aware of any setting that would disable the Audio menu while in a movie and as per my post in the other thread stated I could access the audio in movie menu while playing XviD's

Problem with Aeon skin, or other skins that supports video in a window.
Select any movie. right click to get the trailer information, right click again to play the trailer. The trailer will starts playing fine, now while it is playing press on the Menu button to go back, the sound is still playing however the trailer will start stuttering maybe it becomes software accelerated, now you will see it top left with stuttering, with debug grid the fps is about 14... Now go back to Settings while the trailer is playing, and choose another skin let's say Carmichael, XBMC will crash

The menus work fine on my install, you're the only one who's reported it, hence it is not an issue. EOS.

Amet just corrected me, apparently that line about SMB was wrong all along. SMB write has only ever needed a username/pass. I understood it incorrectly.

You're probably right, although this issue was reported on this thread just yesterday, having looked closer at the referenced thread almost all comments in that thread are pre 10.0-4. Posts after the date of release of 10.0-4 are not consistant with one another. I've removed the issue for now, obviously if consistant reports come in that it isn't fixed it'll get added again. I can't test this myself as my ATV is connected to my TV via HDMI to DVI (no sound). Thanks untauscher. Assimilator I suggest you double-check you have the most recent update (10.0-7) installed, beyond that I'm not really sure what to suggest I'm afraid.
As for reading to post 134, I'm not really sure what you mean
The most recent official release (currently 10.0-7) is catered for in the first post of the thread. Post 134 is an archive of issues in ver. 10.0-4 which can also be accessed via a link at the bottom of the first post (as can the archive of issues from the first iOS release - post 69).

The whole sound passthrough story (AC3, DTS) seems very specific to the used components. Here its all working since the very first release for the apple tv (appletv2 -> hdmi -> yamaha avr -> hdmi -> LG lcd tv). So there are definitly issues, but they don't appear for all constellations. There are some solutions which work for some components in the FAQ thread in the stickys.

Thanks Memphiz, that's a very helpful post. The AC3/DTS issues were baffling me!
As for the issues: I'll remove both of the ones you've quoted - I had thought the folder.jpg & filename.tbn thing had been fixed too.

There seems to be an issue with Video_TS where the files will play in file mode, but not in library mode. Confirmed on multiple ATVs's and now by another poster on here.
