Getting a crash when closing TV Shows/Movie libraries using XBMC-PVR under Ubuntu 11.10, not sure if the skin I'm using (Aeon MQ3) is contributing to it though. When attempting to go back to the home screen there's a 50/50 chance the file list will disappear as expected but the backdrop will remain and the system will hang until it's manually restarted.

The version I'm using was current a week ago, has there been an update since? The other bizzare issue I had this morning was with TVHeadend, where I attempted to watch Live TV and the menu appeared with strange red corruption before the system restarted gracefully. Any ideas?

yes, time to upgrade Smile
if it still occurs with the latest release (build 57), please create a ticket on github and attach the crashlog or full debug log.

Without wanting to seem simple, how can I update it? I'm showing as build 55 but can't work out how to grab the latest version.

- cAizer - 2011-12-14

I get "No PVR add-on enabled" when I start XBMC and its enabled in Addons but it says No PVR add-on enabled when I try to enable TVHeadend addon.
Got this when I updated today, running Ubuntu Oneric and TVHeadend.

a restart helped me wonders

Same problem here! - konti - 2011-12-15

Steps:

- Enabled Live TV
- Go to system - Settings - Addons - PVR Clients
- go to Tvheadend HTSP Client - Enable

Get message: The PVR manager has been enabled without any enabled PVR add-on. Enable at least one add-on in order to use the PVR functionality.

I just upgraded to the latest tvheadend in pulse repository (ubuntu lucid, 2.12.99~pulse-3). Unfortunately this version always runs for just a few minutes and crashes:

All ubuntu lucid libraries are upgraded. Thanks a lot in advance for information about further investigation steps I should do to file a proper bug report.

Pavel.

Same here, and no 'issues' at github. So how indeed do I file a proper bugreport?

I had a simular issue. Did you try running with root rights? When running as user xbmc it crashed. But running as root it didn't. So this could be rights issue?

I managed to solve the issue just now.
Running as root is not an option. This just configures tvheadend in the /root folder, which obviously could solve the inconsistencies detween the puls2 and the pulse3 version of tvheadend. But there is a better way.

I purged tvheadend, deleted the user and group 'tvheadend' as well as the home folder 'hts'. Then installed tvheadend again. (probably just deleting the folder .hts within the /home/hts folder and rebooting your machine has the same result)

I of course had to configure it from scratch, as was my intention. I remember several occasions of upgrading xbmc, where I had to delete my /home/user/.xbmc folder to make it work again, so I figured I try the same with tvheadend.

Finaly I deleted /home/user/.xbmc/userdata/Database/TV18.db and restarted xbmc.

Result: everything runs ok.

Updating to build 57 didn't help, but turning off Aeon MQ3 did. Guessing there's an issue with the skin.

I have been testing the past week tvheadend + XBMC, and overal it's quite good, fast channel switching, a year ago I was using MediaPortal on Windows and a channel switch could take almost 5 seconds or more, so in that regard it's quite good. I even switched to an VUDUO for that annoyance, but am trying xbmc pvr right now for the eye candy.

The problem, when the pc was idle and I tune to a channel on 12722 H astra 19.2 from TVVlaanderen(2BE,VTM,een,...), it wil fail, actually tvheadend fails, XBMC says "no input deteced", tvheadend says "no signal" or "graceperiod expired", if I tune to another transponder It will work, changing back to the TVVlaanderen transponder it will work also.

DVB-S2 card is TBS-6922. OS: Ubuntu 11.04

The pc is on 24/7, so no standby, running latest XBMC from pulse ppa and tvheadend from github compiled yesterday. If it works the quality is normal, the VUDUO is currently connected to the same sattelite on the second LNB output, and also no problem, so signal quality from the dish is OK. The disecq switching works also.

Does anybody have an idea how to troubleshoot this? The debug output on the webui isn't very useful, and how can I let tvheadend log debug information in syslog instead of the basic info, because I can't sit in front of the webui all day.

P.S.: a few posts back I saw some problems with a crash, try deleting epgdb in /home/hts/.hts/tvheadend, was having the same problem, this solved it. Was running latest version from pulse ppa at that time.

this solved it. Was running latest version from pulse ppa at that time.

So, you solved your issue running the package from pulse?
That is great! Keep up the good works!

Cheers.

No I solved it by deleting epgdb in /home/hts/.hts/tvheadend

Here's another piece of my log with the problem.

First I tuned 2x to the TVVlaanderen transponder, both times a problem, then I tuned to another transponder, all ok and then back to the TVVlaanderen transponder, and all is OK.
