New nightly build and channel numbers - mr_blond18 - 2011-07-14 09:35

any chance of a new nightly build anytime soon? No new XBMC-PVR and all the database revision updates keep me back from updating all my other XBMC enabled devices...

Another question... I use XBMC-PVR with TVHeadEnd as backend. When I use the Live-TV view I can use the same channelnumbers as in the channel list of the TVHeadEnd (configuration -> channels -> number) to quickly change channels. However, when I use the file view the channelnumbers seemed random... After some digging in it turned out that the channelnumbers used in fileview are the channelid's used in TVHeadEnd, which the end user can not control and should not be used by the end user.

just saw a new ppa build \O/ @dusmaniac can you give a brief summary of the changes for the non programmers? highly appreciated your work youve done with the pvr tree...

I always post release notes in the sticky on the pvr development forum: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=92315

for a non-dev, not much has changed, except that you won't get "broken add-on disabled" messages all the time anymore.

oh, wasn't aware of that, thanks for that! *bookmarked*

Timeline blank - behaviour - 2011-07-19 16:56

I see you said nothing much has changed in this build but since I upgraded this morning I find that the timeline view is just a blank box (although program titles appear underneath suggesting something is there it just can't be seen.

Also the now & next entries just show empty.epg. I can view a channels full EPG fine when watching a channel and bringing up the OSD menu

same issues as behaviour...
my timeline view is also not visible anymore, but epg visible when watching.

Good evening,

I'm just getting to run TVHeadEnd. The plugin has been installed and activated in XBMC. IP and the Port is corret, I also come to the configuration page.

Then I got the TV adapter selected and carried out the rest as described here.

I have Astra 19.2E selected, which should be for Germany indeed the right one. Then it should start scanning. Only I have the feeling that it makes for 20 minutes no longer.

The log shows only:

Code:
Jul 21 19:42:18 dvb: New mux "12,551,500 kHz Vertical (Default (Port 0, Universal LNB))" created by built-in configuration from "Astra-19.2E"
Jul 21 19:42:35 dvb: Adapter "Montage Technology DS3000/TS2020" mux autodiscovery set to: On

I've created some screenshot for you which maybe can help you.

@Floriannnnn,

Can you tell me more about your dish configuration (make, type, LNB, etc)??

You could try to "Add DVB Network by location" and select "Astra 19.2E" DON'T forget to set the "Select satellite configuration" at the bottom of that window. This should create a lot of Muxes for the Astra 19.2E satelite. If you configured your "satellite config" right, there should be services showing up.

It's better to uncheck the radiobuttons next to "Autodetect muxes" and "Idle scanning" when you're troubleshooting.

Are you sure your dish is properly lined out to the astra 19.2E satellite??

Grz

Hi there,

I tried to install xbmc pvr like described in the first post on a fresh install of Natty. Everything works fine until I try to install xbmc live. I get an error while this is configured and everytime when I install something via apt-get install I get the same as xbmc live is trying to configure itself I guess.
I've got 3 questions:
  • The xbmc live package has nothing to do with the 'xbmc live'- cd which can be obtained via xbmc.org/download/. It's just a script to make ubuntu boot directly into xbmc and some stuff. Am i right about that?
  • Has anyone got these errors too when trying to install xbmc live from the ppa repository? How can I fix it to start directly to xbmc at startup?
  • When starting xbmc with 'startx xbmc' I was getting a very poor framerate/response time although I got the latest nvidia driver installed. I think I need to update the xconfig file, can you tell me how to do so because 'sudo nvidia-xconfig -s --no-logo --force-generate --output-xconfig=/etc/X11/xorg.conf' won't work correctly.

thanks in advance Nod
